It says I have one answer but when I click on the link it shows that I have no answers, so I'll ask again: Does anyone out there know of a good download site where I can get a free Instant Message logger/archiver that I can run in the background so that I can monitor my 13 yo's internet chatting?

You can get a key logger by typing it into Google and search for the free ones. However, I do not know about the archiver. You could get Roboform (free) and make your daughter use it so you will know her password. All messenger chats will be recorded when you turn on messenger archives which is under Preferences, Messages.

I know Subseven a trojan has key logging ability. I used it a whlie back. The problem though is, it is a torjan and allows other people to connect to your PC if you don't Password protect it. Even then It can be brute force.

Again this might not work cause of Anti Virus software. But it is the only free way I know of. I would not recommend this to anyone that dosen't know much about computers.

Check out this link and read for more options on monitoring

Most loggers are spyware themselves.. they log your activities too (including your passwords etc.) and send them to some remote location when you are connected.. would not suggest that you use them.. rather give restricted access to your child.. use programmes like Net nanny etc. (search google for them), which allows you to restrict the site which your kid can access
