If you have scabies, you will likely have itching and irritated skin that gets worse until the mites are killed.
Itching usually starts first. It often becomes noticeable at night or after bathing and is sometimes mistaken for dry skin. Itching is caused by an allergic reaction to the scabies mite. Sometimes the itching is very intense, especially in small children and older adults.
Irritated skin often appears as a rash and skin sores that look like tiny curving tracks. These symptoms are a result of the mite tunneling under the upper layers of the skin. Sometimes you can see a small blister or the mite itself, which looks like a tiny black dot, at the end of a burrow. The tracks may be difficult to see after you scratch the area. Babies may only have red and inflamed skin, sometimes with small blisterlike sores.

Has she been treated? Hopefully, she has been. I know from experience that even after treatment, you can continue to itch for a few weeks. Untreated scabies is pretty easily spread.

They do not actually go away they just get lighter and are harder to see. Go to the doctor. They are hard to diagnose. I got some from a hotel on vacation and I was misdiagnosed by the dermatologist. My allergist didn't know and my MD got it right but she had only seen it 2x before. You need permethin and atarax. The cure is easy, its the diagnosis that is hard. GL

from my knowledge, they don't go away until you use this cream that you put all over your body for a couple of hours then wash it all off in the shower. And you repeat the process as needed

I had it once, and NO, it did not do that. It got worse and more painful until I used the proper meds for it.
