Out of sight, out of mind. As nice as "absense makes the heart grow fonder" sounds, it's just not real. Relationships need to be maintained every day to be sustained.

Depends who it is, if it's a boyfriend who's going to college - your heart may grow fonder, while his thinking is out of sight out of mind.

Out of sight out of mind can be the end but not being around each other every minute of every day can make a relationship stronger

i have been away from my wife when she was my fiancee for 5years and back then we wrote letters almost everyday [ though i still have all her letters she had to destroy mine so that she wouldnt get caugt ] after marriage i have been away from her for two years and i have called/sms her almost every hour that we were awake. Now that she is with me, i live every day as if a new/last day , distance has thaught us a the value of each other.
Bottom line is " out of sight is digging deeper in to your heart '
