That always seemed likely to me. I don't see what the big controversy is all about.

Sounds like it is more about wanting to be right than understanding that God could do what ever, how ever she chose to do.

Let's look at this logically, firstly why does the Big Bang need to be explained by an external force such as God? Can't the Big Bang just have occurred by itself without any help? after all, scientists have discovered sub-atomic particles that can create themselves from seemingly nothing.
If the Big band couldn't occur without the help of an external force such as God;because something must create something else, then this raises the question who created God? If God could just exist without any help from another being why can't the universe?
Finally, if we accept that the universe was created by an external force, who says that it has to be God? It could just have easily have been aliens from another universe; there is just as much evidence for the existence of God as there is for aliens.
Also its important to note that the Big Bang theory, although the most well known, is not the only theory that explains the existence of the universe. There are theories that say the universe always existed and it just goes through cycles of rebirth and destruction, therefore the universe had no beginning.

If he did then the Genesis story can be discounted. If the Big Bang was when he said "Let there be light" then that assumes that the Big Bang occurred after he created the Earth. Ever so slightly impossible.

I have always believed that God uses the natural world in order to create us. I am a believer but i am sorry i don't think that the whole Adam and eve thing is viable unless a&e were created and came from say cave men and followed the natural order of evolution. God is a being of patients beyond patient and i am a firm believer that he uses evolution to create us all.

It does not say anything about God creating the universe, just the earth.

Plus, in prehistoric earth, the first ever life (germs) was made from heated minerals and lava, or 'clay' as the Genesis states.

Therefore, religion is right! (kind of)

Yep, God made the big bang happen. People don't just create themselves!

you choose:
the big bang theory with loads of proven facts, carbon dating etc categorically proving the earth existed millions of years before man, the universe expanding away from a single point....
or creationism and god which basically has absolutely no credible proof at all apart from many peoples religeous "beliefs", most religeons dont have a creation theory, who`s to say which "god" is right if indeed there is one at all...NO PROOF, just fantasy and magic

I don't understand why people assume God isn't capable of creating the Big Bang.

Right, let's look at this objectively. "God" (pfft!) sitting at home, feet up, nothing on TV, he's a bit bored. What shall I do today? Start a week long project? I know, I'll create a universe comprising of billions of galaxies, stick a couple of these pink human things on an insignificant blue and green blob and see what happens. B******s.

I think that what genesis says was true, but that there was alot more to it.Maybe the big bang theory is true, because it really doesn't contradict with the bible very much.

All your answers have come from uneducated Christians who hold tightly to their beliefs.

What does it matter what they think? They are unscientific and uneducated, and have no proof. "Thinking" it's true isn't good enough.

Spend some time researching the science behind the Big Bang, and see for yourself. There's no creator necessary.

And for everyone claiming something cannot come out of nothing, you clearly do not understand the Big Bang, and your (weak) argument could be applied to your theory of god.
