For the most part i think women look younger with long hair. Maybe just because a lot of younger woman have longer hair.

Short hair brings a medium to women's ages. A young girl will look older with a short hair cut and an older woman will look younger with a short hair cut. An older woman will look fun and trendy with a short hair cut while a younger one will look too mature to have long flowing hair.

Extremely short hair does little to enhance the looks of most women, so the hair should at least have some length, otherwise I do not think it looks youthful, more likely the opposite. This is because short hair just puts all the imperfections on show, such as wrinkles and disclourations!
I personally prefer at least chin length to chest length, with lots of layers and highlights. If you have good quality hair, then keep the length what ever age you are! HTH : )

It really depends on the shape of the face and the type of long or short style. The perfect shape is the oval shaped face......so they say. When a stylist looks at structure we look to create an oval shape. IE. if you have a strong square jaw (as I do) we would put soft layers coming just below the cheek bones to take the corners off and soften the jaw line. If one has a long, square forehead we would put a fringe to again, take the corners off. I think that the reason women become dated in their looks is that they don't update. We tend to keep our hair in a style from when we felt good about ourselves. Be it high school, college, when we met or even married our spouse. Because we had great memories of those times, sometimes we don't want to deviate from what we think made us feel good about ourselves. Make sure weather your hair is long, short or somewhere in between that you're keeping it updated and fresh! Also, don't get locked into a style because someone is telling you that you're too old to wear that style or color. I don't conform to the idea that as we age our hair should become shorter and lighter. Feel good about you and what you're wearing on your cranium!!! Just don't let it get too dated........Farrah.......the Friend's cut.........Frosting.....get my point?

it depends to many things like face characters, shape of your face, the hair models and also the wardrobe (include) your make-up...
At the past women with long hair often represent of mature women...but now, women with short hair have the same opinion..
But i think women will look more fresh (if it helps to look younger...) with short hair...

It all depends on the woman. For example, Hilary Clinton looks old no matter how short or long her hair is. Short = no change. Long = no change. Still old. Unless she wore her hair long and combed it forward to cover her face. Then maybe she could pull off a younger look. Doubtful, but she could try. On the other hand, take Kate Moss. She can do a whole lotta looks, not just "old" like Hillary. Kate looks a bit more mature with longer, wavy hair. More elegant. Short, bobbed, curly is more sporty, active, kicky, and by implication, youthful.

Short. Women with long hair look older, especially when they are starting to age.
Short hair looks better on an older woman.
