Im planning on being a photographer. So can you help me answer my questions. Is it a good job? Are you a photogrpher? Do you know of any websites that can give an idea of it?

I am a photographer, however, I do not do it professionally. It is a GREAT job if you are good at working with people and good at taking pictures. i don't know of any web addresses off the top of my head, but Kodaks website is excellent. Nikon's is very good as well. Photography is great fun, and it could very easily generate a nice income.

Check your local college for photography courses..... I'd suggest maybe starting off as a serious amateur first while gaining some experience and a reputation before going Pro.

My webhosting provider 1&1 Internet ltd have teamed up with a print-on-demand merchandising website called Equisto.... and I had the idea of putting some of my best photographs on that merchandise..... but so far no bugger has bought anything :(

There's a good website where you can get your photographs reviewed by others, and review other people's photographic efforts - http://www.thephotographersworkshop.com (I use the same screen name there as here: jduck1979)

Oh yeah..... and for Digital Camera reviews + other stuff on photography (I mostly just use it for reviews), there's the excellent http://www.steves-digicams.com/

Photography is a great job. I am not personally a photographer, I once was-but things happened and I couldn't do the job any more.
There are tons of websites you could look at. But if you are going to look for cameras, you might want to just check out stores instead of looking over the internet (to check out lenses, to get the feel of it, or if you think one gives a better quality picture than another-get hands on).

make sure you learn both traditional photography and digital. in the future you may not need to know traditional dark room techniques but you wil need to know them for at least another 10 or 15 years.

ANY COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY WEBSITE USUALLY HAS PHOTOGRAPHY LISTED IN THEIR COURSE CALENDAR. CHECK IT OUT.
