No! To transfer digital video successfully to your PC you need a firewire port. If you don't have one you might want to also have good look at your PC to see if will even support video editing. For a minimum configuration:

3 GHz CPU
1Gb RAM
200 Gb disk
DVD burner
Firewire port/PinnacleAV/DV board

If you have an older PC you'll find loading, editing and burning DV to DVD painful.

See if you have or can find a usb cable that hooks directly from the camera to the usb port.

ya as long as it has a USB plug. I would recommend any camera from the Kodak Line. I myself have a DX6440 and even though it's been discontinued, it still kicks ***. They're professional, yet very user friendly and easy to operate.

Lumix FZ-30 - Panasonic SD as much as 2Gb, 12X Optical Stabilized Zoom Lens, 8 Mpixels, record video at 30 fps SVGA - 604x320 I never use the digital zoom ! is ineffective. you're able to do the digital zoom on your laptop !!!
