In the Old Testament it says
Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Then in the New estament it says:
1 Corinthians 6:9
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Both in the old testament and the new testament can be found scripture which difinatively states that homosexuality is an abomination in God's eyes. It also states that you should love the sinner not the sin. And most importantly that you should not judge ANYONE unless you are blameless. Gotta weed your own lawn before you go weeding the neighbors yard...sorry to see you are getting so many angry answers here but tolerance is at an all time low on both sides of the fence.

The bible refers to God first made Adam and then made Eve as Adam's partner. The belief is that these two beings (being opposite of each other) would and could produce off-spring to populate the Earth.
In Soddem and Gomorhha (please excuse my spelling, but spell checking doesn't seem to be working right now on Yahoo Answers) it states that these cities were corrupt with men engaging in relations with men and women engaging in relations with women. God deemed these cities corrupt and vile and destroyed them for there disobedience.
I am a heterosexual woman, but I do understand that no one chooses to be gay. You are what you are. You cannot "help" or determine who you fall in love with.
Love transcends everything. Why should be people be so opposed to gay love? God teaches us to love, not to hate, so when someone hates another person just for their sexuality, is that person then not acting as God had intended?
Regardless of being gay or straight, I've never understood why people care what someone else does, in the privacy of their own home, behind closed doors. What my husband and I do, when expressing our love to each other, is of no one's concern, but ours. I certainly don't concentrate on what anyone else does behind closed doors, so why should someone think about what my husband and I do.
If we all just stopped judging one another based on our sexual preferences and just accepted the person for who they are and how they treat us and the rest of the world, I think that the world would be a better place to live.

Well not in those words, but yes it does say it is a sin. People have been twisting the bible to suit their life styles for 1,000 years, it only stands to reason that homosexuals will too. Do you know anyone who molds their life to conform with the bible, or mold the bible to conform with their life/way of thinking?

God's Word condemns ALL sin, and homosexuality is one of MANY listed.
To enter Heaven, you must accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and take up your cross and follow Him.
As Jesus said to the woman there were going to stone, until He stopped them.
'Go, and sin no more'.
In other words, to follow Jesus, you must stop your sinful lifestyle choices, homosexuality or any of the other sins.
God did not make people homosexual, they CHOOSE to live that lifestyle by giving in to their lust for people of the same sex.

Our Creator Sets the Standard
Our Creator established rules governing marriage long before governments began regulating the institution. The opening book of the Bible tells us: “A man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24) The Hebrew word “wife,” according to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, “connotes one who is a female human being.” Jesus confirmed that those yoked together in marriage should be “male and female.”—Matthew 19:4.
Thus, God intended marriage to be a permanent and an intimate bond between a man and a woman. Men and women are designed to complement each other so they may be capable of satisfying each other’s emotional, spiritual, and sexual needs and desires.
The well-known Biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah reveals God’s feelings about homosexuality. God declared: “The cry of complaint about Sodom and Gomorrah, yes, it is loud, and their sin, yes, it is very heavy.” (Genesis 18:20) The extent of their sinful depravity at that time was apparent when two guests visited the righteous man Lot. “The men of Sodom . . . surrounded the house, from boy to old man, all the people in one mob. And they kept calling out to Lot and saying to him: ‘Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have intercourse with them.’” (Genesis 19:4, 5) The Bible says: “The men of Sodom were bad and were gross sinners against Jehovah.”—Genesis 13:13.
The men became “violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males.” (Romans 1:27) They had “gone out after flesh for unnatural use.” (Jude 7) In countries where homosexual rights campaigns are pervasive, some may object to using the word “unnatural” to describe homosexual behavior. However, is not God the final arbiter when it comes to nature? He commanded his ancient people: “You must not lie down with a male the same as you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable thing.”— Leviticus 18:22.

It says it many times in the bible, "Man shall not lay with another man as he would with a woman", BUT, liberalism in the government and the media hate this because it means they can't continue with their hedonism without being responsible for their actions. That's why there are so many who don't believe this, they say the bible is old fashioned, out dated, we are the new and improved intellectuals, we know better than God. I used to be just like them, God saved me from it.

while some choos to be "gay" otheres are born that way... it is not the homosexuality that is the sin... it is the homosexual acts that are the abomination to God... a homosexual can choose not to engage in homosexual acts... just like a hetro can abstain from sexual acts.... That is the first step they need to take, or one of them, to come to God in The Way God proscribes. Inorder to receive God's free gift of Salvation... They need to take all of the steps of course just like every one else... but they can not come to God and still have the intention to continue the sin. God will reject them just as he will reject any other sinner who comes to Him and still has the intention to continue the sin.
