In ultra strict Islamic countries, the wearing of open-toed high heels, (or high heels in general) is forbidden because (a) it will be alluring and enticing to men and (b) in these countries there are strict dress codes for women.
Also in ultra strict Islamic countries, women are forbidden to wear nail polish, make-up, etc.

Religion aside common sense should tell people not to wear them. Long term use contracts the muscles and tendons in the leg and contribures to back problems, and they are condusive to more accidents.

I do not know...but there should be a law against them.... they are bad for womens health period... not the least back pain... lots of studies on the subject show the negatives of highheels...
