It is something untouchable which science cannot study. It is the thing that keeps our hearts beating, the thing that makes us laugh and cry and gives us pause when we look upon something wondrous. It is our imagination and and our feeling of sadness when something bad happens. It is what makes you what you are and keeps you going even when the body says it ought to stop. WE are our soul, you, me, them trapped in a decaying fleshy shell that only serves the purpose of helping us to grow spiritually just as we grew physically within the womb. You are your soul and when your body dies your soul leaves it and is reborn into another state of being. One only which a fully developed soul can conceive of. i don't know were we go when we die but i do know this...it will certainly be wondrous.

The Spirit or Soul
This is described as having no mass, no wave-length,no energy and no time or location in space except by consideration or postulate.
The spirit is not a "thing". It is the "creator" of things.
The usual residence of the soul, (spirit, awareness of awareness unit....YOU) is in the skull or near the body.
YOU are your own immortal soul.
The soul can be in one of four conditions.
1. Entirely separate from a body or bodies.
2. Near a body and knowingly controlling the body.
3. In the body (the skull).
4. An inverted condition, compulsively away from the body and unable to approach it.
There are degrees of each of the above 4 conditions.
The most optimum of these from the standpoint of man, is the second.
The Mind
This is a communication and control system between the spirit and it's (his) environment.
The mind is a network of communications and pictures, energies and masses, which are brought into being by the activities and interactions of the spirit with the Physical Universe and other spirits/individuals.
These activities include the operating of a body and the solving
of problems related to survival and existence.
The mind has 2 Parts:
The Analytical Mind. The keynote of this mind is awareness. One knows what one is concluding and knows what one is doing.
The Reactive Mind. This is a stimulus response mechanism.
This mind acts below the level of consciousness. It never stops operating unlike the Analytical Mind which can be less aware or even completely unconscious.
The Body
A carbon/oxygen engine. This can best be studied in such books as "Grey's Anatomy" and other anatomical texts.
As to what happens when the body dies. This simply causes a permenant seperation between you and that particular body.

The soul is within you. You may die but the soul never dies. It is not your personality your personality comes from your upbringing and your surroundings. It is not love. It is consciousness. Have you ever tried to do something wrong and you hear a voice from within you that it is wrong. The soul is part of you for as many lives that you live. It has all the records. I have given my Soul a name. As soon as i mention the name I get my answer to what I am asking.
When one dies the soul alone goes to a holding area where it is given instructions on how the life should have been conducted and what are the short comings. That is why i say these days no body talks to their soul but people say you will burn in eternal fire in Hell. It is only the soul that can burn and the soul has had nothing to do in this life???

The real soul is an eternal infinitesimal expansion of God. This eternal soul is the source of our true personality, our true love, and real consciousness. The real eternal soul cannot die and so when the body dies the soul transmigrates to another body or into the eternal spiritual world.
BG 2.13: As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.
BG 2.16: Those who are seers of the truth have concluded that of the nonexistent [the material body] there is no endurance and of the eternal [the soul] there is no change. This they have concluded by studying the nature of both.
BG 2.17: That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul.

To understand soul, you have to understand the combination of a human being.. We the man is created with three things, that is 1. soul 2. Mind(conscious) 3. Body(Hardware). Soul is the life force, it is like the electricity power. when you switch on your electric equipment the power comes in and the instrument works, once you off it doesnt, Consciousness or Mind is the software that works on your hardware, that is your body. So in order to function all these three is necessary. Soul is energy which never dies where as body and mind is something that works along with the soul. So when you die your soul goes to the creator and will be answerable to him. If you have worked good with the software and hardware that came along with you, then you will be given the Heaven, that is the highest level of existence, and vice versa.

In the Bible, "soul" is translated from the Hebrew `nephesh` and the Greek word `psykhe`. Bible usage shows the soul to be a person or an animal or the life that a person or an animal enjoys. To many persons, however, "soul" means the immaterial or spirit part of human beings that survives the death of the physical body. Others understand it to be the principle of life. But these latter views are NOT Bible teachings.
The concept of the immortality of the soul is a Greek notion formed in ancient mystery cults and elaborated by the philosopher Plato.
What happens to us at death? Eccl.9:5 says in part: "...as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all."

Soul is something invisible to our human eyes, it belongs to the spiritual world. Soul is attached to our body, without the soul we are dead. In our dream, it is our soul that leave our body and enter the spiritual world. Our soul will return to the God when we die, there will be no death for our soul, it lives eternally.

NO. It is who we are and entails many characteristics some of which you have listed. Love, conscience, etc. The soul is the inner being that evry human possess. We are given freewill at birth to decided whether to live for ourselves or for God. The soul will house either the spirit of Christ or the spirit of the antichrist. Both cannot live there. The one we choose to follow survives. That is who we become. By deciding to live for God or for Satan that influences the choices we make and who we become...therefore is our personality, charcter, conscience, love etc. When we die the soul is laid to rest. On the day of judgement all will rise up and every knee will bend, every mouth shall confess that God is Lord. This day we will be judged on how we have lived. Those who have lived for God and been born again will be welcomed to heaven. Those who have rebelled will be cast to hell.

It is a consciousness greater than our awareness in this earth plane. The soul continues on growing, learning, gathering light from the source.
