it depends on the application for Warrant Officer Status, and the requirements for that particular field.

Navy personnel must be at least E7 or above before they can apply. This takes anywhere form 7-10 years or more.
Army personnel can become Warrants straight out of High school with their High school to Flight School program.

It depends on your MOS or specialty, and if you are in infantry, artillery, armor, paratroop, etc. or a support service like administration (clerk) public affairs, computer services, etc. (all non-combat.) Non-combat designations progress much slower in rank. Schooling, both in and outside the military, can also impact progression of rank. I have known cooks with 25 years service, at E-6 rank, and bandmasters with less time at Warrant Officer rank. Schooling, combat vs. non-combat seem to be the important factors.

depends on what field. flight warrant doesn't take two long. In order to be a warrant in your particular field, you have be a Staff Sergeant and BNCOC graduate. It takes a minimum of 4 years to make Staff, and they're no sending you to BNCOC before that happens.
