Tuna is known to contain high levels of mercury with 0.38 ppm (mean mercury level in parts per million). Salmon (not the farm raised) is known to have very low levels of mercury with only 0.01 ppm. In general eating fish 2-3 times a week should be ok if that fish is known to have low levels of mercury. I do not think tuna fits this category.

Tuna's fine and you're right, it does contain plenty Omega-3, don't eat it 17 times a day and you should be just fine

I wouldn't eat it. High levels of mercury and other toxins are concentrated in fish and other seafood. Try other sources of omega-3 if that's what you're mainly eating tuna to get. Flax seed oil, hemp seed and hemp seed oil, just do a little investigating online and you'll find out a lot.

true but 2 cans of tuna in spring water will not hurt you , say 2 a week, and do wonders for your heart and cholesterol, or better yet get a good omega 3 vita mine, and use as directed.

Tuna is GREAT for you. There is no other meat with such a high concentration of Protein in it. I body build and eat a tone of tuna because I prefer to get my protein naturally than with supplements.

Actually, no matter what food it is, it's bad to eat too much to often because they all contain different toxins, even fruit due to produce specific pestisides always eat a variety not only better for your body but you wont end up with too much of one toxin
