What does it matter what nationality they are? Just buy a gift that you yourself would like to have, or are they registered anywhere, if so then check out what they need and go from there.

Don't know how much you want to spend but you could put a lot of little things in a box, like some good tea, bisquits, chocolates (Thorntons).
Some dinnerware or tea set from Royal Doulton (you could add a couple of tea cups to the box). Just make sure everything is well wrapped so it won't break.

Don't send any electrical appliance, the power outlets are different in Poland.
How about a voucher for a trip on Easyjet or Ryanair to visit you in the UK?

Whatever you choose that is easy to mail will be fine. There are no faux pas to be made! They are just regular people, too. Don't send crystal, though, they have amazing crystal in their country which is frightfully expensive to those of us outside of Poland.

I would buy them things that they would like. I'm sure that whatever it is, they will be very appreciative.
