Bank #2 = cylinder numbers 4,5 and 6. Located on the driver's side. Don't listen to the other posts telling you spark plug number 2 is bank #2. They obviously don't have a clue.

go V-8 w/ automatic trans only. here's why while the v-6 will stay together it has a history of e.g.r. failure [the ports and passages inside the intake manifold clog up] and while the v-6 will move the truck around o.k. THE V-6, IS NOT THE ENGINE TO TOW WITH.PERIOD. as far as transmissions go studies have shown that horses arrive in better shape when the tow vehicle has an automatic transmission [this is not to say that a well schooled manual transmission operator can not achieve the same results; just that with a minimum of two different operators driving the same truck, pulling the same trailer the cargo will arrive in better shape with an automatic]

Bank 2 is the side closest to the master cylinder and the power steering pump.. Ford is different than any other manufacturer in that regard.
Bank two has cylinders 4,5,and 6

I'm pretty sure if your looking at your engine from the grill it's the left side of the block.
Banks refer to the line of cylinders on your engine. The cylinders are numbered alternately from right to left. Cylinder 1 is the first cylinder on the right cylinder 2 is the first cylinder on the left.
The cylinder is what the piston moves up and down in on the engine.
That's about as much as I can tell you keeping within your question.
