Helio without a doubt. I don't understand why all these people say "oh bruce would kill him" Just tell me one thing: how?

Did bruce lee ever fight? No. He was a MOVIE STAR. Yet there seems to be this certain myth that Bruce lee is a unstoppable god. He isn't. In fact he never did anything fancy. Name one NHB fight Bruce has been in? You can't.

Look at Helio, the father of the Gracies, MMA superstars. The Gracie family is the most known fighting family in the world. Helio has had countless fights, just like all his sons. Whats Bruce? A famous actor.

Lets look at each others styles? Helio: BJJ vs Bruce Lee: Wing Chung?(lol) / JKD (lol).

Name a good fighter who uses Wing Chun or JKD? You can't, you know why? Because those styles are ineffective. (maybe if you like throwing punches into the mirror while yelling stupid stuff like KIA!!!! Then yes.) Now name a good fighter who uses BJJ? Hell, I could name 100 straight off the bat.

Helio vs Bruce: Helio via 1000 submissions sending Bruce back to acting school.

Its funny alot of people say bruce lee but havn't even trained in JKD, Bruce would have lost via submission= helio gracie is one of the first NHB fighters of all time, the dude was sick, bruce lee got choked out by Gene " judo" lebell after that bruce thought it might be a good idea to train on the ground
Helio would habe fought anyone, heck he is 95 yrs old and still trains, also one of bruce lees top students is guru danny inosanto, who trains and has a BJJ blackbelt, hmm bruce lee never had that, he would have gotten worked
Helio gracie by sub 1st round

Most people have already answered this question correctly by saying Bruce Lee. However I will go a bit further. I am a very fortunate person for having actually seen a copy of a fight Bruce lee was in and I can tell you it was truly amazing! With Bruce Lee's speed Gracie I am sorry to say doesn't stand a chance! As i watched the fight I noticed this guys head rock back a couple of times and his nose began to bleed. (I never saw Bruce hit him!) When watching the video frame by frame there was a blur that was barely picked up on two frames per head rocking. This was one of the most amazing displays of speed I have ever seen!

This is the great debate at who would win between a ground/submission fighter and a stand up fighter. The facts, Bruce and Helio are both, respectively, bad a**es. They are the top practitioners of their chosen disciplines. Now, it comes down to who would win if these two Goliaths would fight. Stand up alone, Bruce would win. Submission fight, Helio hands down. Now, as every fight goes, both are mixed in. Bruce would have to keep the fight on their feet if he had a chance to win. I highly doubt many on here know what Helio has done and who he has beaten. They know him from hearing of Royce. Helio fought some nasty dudes and beat them. Bruce was a point Karate fighter. Great, point karate does alot of good when your opponent breaks your arm in an arm bar or chokes you unconscious. This fight would go to the ground and Helio would prove victorious. I know, I know, Bruce knows the spinning back kick flip of death that dazzles us in the movies, but those things don't work in a true no holds barred match.

Bruce Lee was criticized by many purists of martial arts training because he stated openly that sparing with no or light contact only teaches you how to win without hitting someone. He believed you must practice full contact sparing in order to learn to protect yourself. His anology was in order to learn to swim you must get wet. So I believe he would fare much better than most movie martial artists. Anything goes tournaments were illegal back then and I doubt Bruce Lee ever fought in one. Ultimately he was 5' 7" and 140 lbs. He wouldn't last one round against Gracie.
