I had a relationship when I was younger, loved the guy very much. We broke up because he messed around with another girl. There weren't any children involved, but it hurt like the end of the world was coming. I wanted nothing to do with men period initially, slowly that changed. 2 years later I met this wonderful man; we married and have been married for 34 years yesterday. I am glad that my first relationship broke up, my husband is 10xs the man the first one was.

Your not worthless, get that right out of your mind. It's normal to feel worthless right now because you just broke up with someone that you once cared for. That hurts and you may blame yourself, but it takes two to make a good relationship.

Take your time and don't rush into another relationship yet. You have your son to think of too. There is "love after love" as Cher says. Many have found love again (like me) and most times that love is better because you know what you DON'T want.

There are plenty of men that will except a child as an extension of you if they love you enough. I know several men who have married women with children; the child became like their own.

Learn to enjoy your single state, enjoy your son for they grow up fast and good luck.

After my "first" I was miserable and lonely for two years. I had hollow relationships because I forced them. Looking back that was the worst thing to do. I am in a budding and healthy relationship now, and I found it quite by accident. The most important thing right now should be your son. He will love you more than any man ever could.

Sure it's possible to find love again, but don't go overboard on trying to find "love" it will just happen if you take your time and be honest about yourself.
I was married 4 years and I met my present wife and she had a son, we've been together 38 years now.
Good luck to you,
Marty
Ps My son was 3 when we met

Don't worry -- you will be fine and will find love again.

At your age, worry about taking care of yourself and your son first. If you put yourself and your child as your priorities, love will find you without your needing to look for it.

If you worry that you may not find love, then you are worrying unduly. Whilst there is no hard and fast answer to when you will find it, I am sure that you will find it sooner or later! Good luck!

From my personal experience, children ALWAYS were a roadblock.

Excuse me......To the dimwit who gave me the thumbs-down: I SAID that in MY EXPERIENCE a kid was a problem. HOW does your devious little mind think that my experiences deserve a thumb???
