I personally think that paid dog walkers is a stupid idea. If you get a dog, you should be prepared to take care of it yourself. And if you know you have work, it isn't fair to leave it home alone all day. What's the point in getting a dog if a PAY someone to look after it? How low does that sound...

i thought the same too...but im a dog walker now. and some of my clients are people that do go to work and they just need someone to come in during the afternoon and walk to dog. not a big deal. and there are also elderly people that had the dog for a long time now and they just can't walk to dog all the time by themself. it's just a job where you help out a little bit when the owner can't. sometimes situations change when you get a dog and have it for awhile. im sure in the beginning they took care of the dog themselves and then something happen and now they can't 24/7. so it's not a bad thing to get some help.

While I see your point, dog walkers are usually hired to keep the dog active during the day. If people didn't have dogs becuase they worked then hardly anybody would have a K9. Really, people hire lease walkers because they care for the dog. Then when they come home they can take their dog for another walk since it's recommened at least two walks a day.

So you think that only people who don't work and are home all day should have dogs? Should the dogs owned by such people be sent to the shelters and probably euthanized? Is it better if the dog is left for 9 hours a day without a chance to exercise?

I think its GREAT when people care enough about their dog to hire someone to come and take care of their dog during the workday.

Almost everybody works, if people didn't have dogs because they worked, hardly anybody would have them. I don't think it is fair to be so judgemental.

It sounds weird but some people dont realise they dont actually have the time. Sometimes its too cold for some people to take their dogs for walks. Some people dont want to walk their doghs theyed rather -play with them in their home and pay for someone else to do it. It sounds pointless to me but hey people have different opinions.
