I have a maritime painting with sailing ships signed by J. Root "46. Does anyone know of this artist?

I believe the piece to be in oil painted on masonite. Seems like I may have viewed maritime art in a gallery in New England with a last name of "Root".

There are 2 J Root artists found at the following site #1. But you have to register with them. Site #2 is free, but you need to login in.
