I have long hair now, very very straight and a rather medium brown, I am in my early 30's, my face looks long, esp with long str hair. I don't know much about hairstyles, cuts, highlights, or maintenance. Any tips, places to check out hairstyles, esp with face shapes, and info would be very appreciated.
Also, I am taking online classes to go into the medical office field, so would need a style that wouldn't be unproffessional also.

You are right about long hair making a face look longer. It will definately drag down your face. A cut will lift up your looks, and you are sure to love the outcome of a well researched decision. When I cut mine I spent alot of time looking at magazines, the kind with alot of different face types. People and other mag's with famous faces will give you alot of variety. The faces are real and the styles are great and not crazy complicated like the ones shown in the hairstyles magazines. Look, look, look, then cut out several styles that you like and think you could maintain. Then... research stylists! Invest in a great cut, especially the first one. You will not regret the skill, and you will recoup the extra dollars that a professional stylist will deserve, and charge! There are countless web pages to see styles, but a bunch of magazines will be your best choice so that you can cut out the pictures you like. Sometimes the beaty shop has a few hundred mag's, so take some post-it's to mark the pages, and go to your chosen salon and hour early to look. You did ask for a web site, so here is one of many. ( I just typed into the browser LONG FACE, SHORT STYLE you can do this too for many different choices. Anyway, best of luck, try beauty.about.com

Dear STYLE ICON,
I think u should get your hair cut in steps or layers whatever u call it. coz i have a frend called aashka who has the same facial structure and she had long, silky hair. Now she's got them cut in steps till 2inches below the shoulder. She looks awesome! So i think it might work for u too. U could add highlight to a few strands of hair in the front that fall on your face. WSo even if u keep your hair open or not tied; they will look ULTRA COOL!!!

Hope this helps u!
Bye

Check out hairstyles online and work from there. There will be sites for hair styles with certian face shapes. Just browse around them.

I actually think that a bob style cut will even out the shape of your face and not make it look so long.

i suggest that if you really want to cut it, to cut to about collar bone length or shoulder length. not any shorter than that. a good look for straight hair is to go to shoulder length in front and then have it be a little longer in back with layers. side bangs are also helpful for a longer face because it sort of cuts the face in half. another idea is to just go to a professional and ask for their opinion, they did go to school for that type of thing! good luck!

With a round face, dodge bangs of any form, they make the face rounder. you are able to wish to diminish your hair so as that that is in basic terms above your shoulders, then have the stylist piece it round your face so that you've very subtle framing. an aspect area is in all likelihood a good idea besides.

cut your hair into a long bob that reaches a little bit past the shoulder. It wont bring your head down

NO don't cut your hair short it is going out of style.

Get a loose perm and put some highlights in your hair.
