My new boyfriend is all the time telling me about all the sweet things he's done for girls he's dated. He's just dated them, and we're in a relationship. He always says just wait and i'll show you. I'm getting a little frustrated hearing about all these things he's done for other girls that he supposedly didn't feel as good with as he does with me. I treat a guy very well...but I expect the same in return. Am I asking too much?

I'm not asking for things. He talks about bringing girls flowers, making them nice romantic dinners, leaving them sweet little notes, etc. And they weren't even girlfriends!! He said his problems in the past have been that no one appreciates these things. I told him I would, and he says he knows that I would. I'm giving him everything he's asking for, but not getting in return what he says he'll give. I've not felt so comfortable and good to be with someone before, so I really want to give it a good try.

no instead of talking about the things he did for his ex`s he should be doing them for you.

What the h**l is he waiting for?? By time he gets around to the special things he's bragging about, you'll be long gone. If he truly felt in love with you, there would be no waiting, just giving of himself without hesitation.
Maybe he's been hurt by pouring it on too strongly too quickly in the past and wants to see if you'll leave before he gives you what he says he has for you.
He's preventing you two from having that wonderful new relationship feeling...mine did it to me and by time he came around, I was over him.

Have you asked him why he keeps telling you about all these good things he's done but doesn't do them for you? I think he sounds like he's just trying to either make himself look good to you ( but is not doing it correctly) or he's trying to make you jealous for some reason. I'd tell him I wanted to see some action and less talk.

No, I don't think so. Why does he feel the need to talk about what he's done for other girls? Tell him you are tired of waiting.

No you are not. Tell him you are tired of hearing about what he has bought every one else. If he cares about you like he says, he needs to start showing you. He has talked the talk , now walk the walk.

You are not asking too much and if you ask me your guy sounds pretty self-centered. I would tell him I was tired of hearing what he has done for others and if he can’t move on to the present, make him history.

first thing is he should not be talking about the other girls only about you . I think he dont love you as much as you think he does if he alwasy talks about others and what he did for them. Find another guy that wants only you.

Maybe he's been burned so often, he's a little gun-shy now...besides, what is it you're waiting for? Do you expect some expensive gift or are you just dating him for material things?

You evidently have more patience than I do. I would tell him to go do those things for his old girlfriends because I am tired of hearing about it.

sounds like (to me) hes stuck his foot in his mouth and is expecting the rest of his leg to follow, but in all liklihood, the girls hes talking about probably dont remember any of what hes talking about either...perception ...his perception
(only)
