If the Iraqis are running the show why are we still there let them get on with it. Iraq is in civil war and the only reason the new regime is still in power is because we are there. The new leaders are treating their people no different to Saddam. Compared with the dictatorships in Africa Saddam is an Angel so why beat up on him why not beat up on the dictators in Africa.
Anyone with any common sense can see that ruling three volatile ethnic factions such as the Shia's, Sunnis and Kurds is not easy, all the allies have done is succeeded in propagating a continuous blood bath. Saddam should be set free and be allowed to be part of the new Iraq.

It is not up to the United States. Saddam was convicted in an Iraqi court and it is up to them to carry out the sentence.

The sentence passed down by the Iraqi courts must be carried out asap & by whatever method they see fit. He has said that he wants to be executed by firing squad instead of hanging............he must have no choice in the matter, just like he offered no choice to his victims. The sooner he's out of the way the better

No difference!
I support the death sentence against Saddam, but for full justice, Bush and Blair should also stand a trial for killing more than 700.000 civilians in Iraq and destroying a whole country forever!

I don't believe he should or will ever go to Guantanamo...
I believe Saddam should / will be held in Iraq until executed.

execution. i blame him for a lot of the problems that america is having right now with terrorists. if more terrorists see that america is not going to put up with it, they might be more afraid to try another twin towers episode.

also what did he do to justify being able to live when he killed so many of our boys without a second thought? what gives him the right to live when he didnt give so many a chance for that?

Saddams fate is inteh hands of the Iraqi people. He will not go to Gitmo.

2006-11-05 09:28:39 · answer #9 · answered by JohnRingold 4 · 1 1

After our troops arrested him, he was handed over to the Iraqis. He was out of our hands at that point, and wasn't our problem anymore.

So, we couldn't send him to Gitmo even if we wanted to. Once he was handed over to the Iraqis for trial, he was under their jurisdiction -- not ours.
