First let me say, thanx for the 10points, then I hope you will be employed again soon. Now for the lice problem. Believe me, nothing on the shelves to stop or kill lice works, NOTHING!!!!!
Use my remedy, it works, I dont sell it, not yet! Half cup white vinegar diluted with one cup water. Wash the hair as usual with shampoo. then thoroughly rinse with water, then rinse hair with vinegar(anti lice) solution. Have a spray bottle handy and pour some in the bottle, spray your hair daily to prevent the lice from coming back. Welcome to our lice free world!!!Need work over the net, contact www.mylot.com/?jambug

Well you can cut off all your hair! Once when I had it in college, I didnt have any money either, and I didnt want to shave my head. So I went to the drug store, and stole a bottle of Rid. Of course you might not be that despirate, but if you are, please dont get caught!

Another thing you can try is to eat LOTS and LOTS of garlic. Of course you will still have to find a way to make sure you get the eggs and nits out of your house.

Here's a link you can read:

I agree with most of what he says, except the part about natural remedies. Just because the FDA hasnt "approved" something, doesnt mean it's not effective.
The olive oil remedy sounds promising.

Back to shaving. I have been shaving my head at least 2 or 3 times a week since 1996, and I havent had a problem with lice since!

i have just been reading about it. Tea treeOil is what everyone seems to be saying. It is inexpensive and takes very little to work, but I know you don't have that around the house. From what I have read the lice lives off of feeding from the blood supply to the scalp so really any oil should work. I also read that vasaline works. The idea is that if you get the scalp good and oily, the lice cannot feed off of it. I have heard even like canola or vegetable oil. Just put it on and maybe a shower cap to help smother the little buggers and kill them and sleep with it, or leave in for at least 3 hours. If using tea tree oil, only have to leave on for 5 minutes. Takes 3 or so days of washing hair to get the other oils out, but well worth it. I also saw one tip of using mayo to suffocate them, but I haven't read as much about that one. I think leaving on foir 3 hours for that too. Make sure all sheets and pillows and things are washed in hot water and boil or throw away all brushes. if boiling boil for ten minutes and anything that can't be washed should be sealed in airtight container for a couple of weeks because eggs take about a week to hatch. and it takes a coupole of days without feeding to kill them. two weeks just to be sure. vacuuming furniture works fine, really need to worry about the places where the infected peoples head are the most. it is most likely to carry from person to person, but still the other areas are possible and should be covered, and dealt with correctly and agin in 7-10 days treat again or you may be dealing with this for a very long time. tell them to do themselves a favor do it right the first time and save a lot of pain and heartache good luck and best wishes

Go to Dollar General and get the hair grease used by black people wear it for 3 or 4 days boys no biggie, just comb it in - for girls braid there hair , cost about $2 for a tub - NO I'm not being racist saying black people- but it works -after 4 days wash it out using Dawn dish washing soap, may have to wash 2 or 3 times to get it all out.
The mixture for kerosene is 1/3 kerosene and 2/3 baby oil- put all over your head leave on 10 mins. and wash out.
wash everything in hot water - if it can't be washed put it in the dryer on hottest setting for 30 mins., but you need to get the spray of the furniture.
You can also try the health dept. sometimes they will give you the shampoo

I would never ever use kerosene it is extremely dangerous and could burn the scalp and blind if gotten in the eyes!.The Olive oil for a home treatment sounds promising or just go to the store and buy some RID and use vinegar spray to loosen the nits and comb them out. I use white vinegar full strength and let it set for about 5 minutes and the nits comb right out.

When my grandmother was a little girl, they poured Kerosene over her head and then crushed them individually with her fingernail. Obviously, this could be dangerous as Kerosene is flammable, so use caution. Unfortunately, having been a teacher and seen quite a few cases, Nix (the storebought medicine) is the best treatment. If your friend can scrape the funds together, that is best.

shampoo then condition with a good brand name and a very fine tooth comb. comb out the little buggers and kill them this will have to be done over a couple of weeks to get rid of them. wash hair regularly daily is ideal at worst every second day.

Kerosene is the old standby. Other than that, shaving of heads can be done.
