I'm 14 and I'm really interested in makeup.Of course,I,a 14 year old, don't have that much money. How can a 14 year old earn without babysitting, because there are no kids around in my neighbourhood or the next one either.Me and my friends are really baffled because we are at a age when we are allowed to work.

maybe shoveling snow..mowing lawns, doing little things form older neighbors.....and there are some brands of makeup at local drug stores that are relatively cheap..like lip gloss for a dollar, etc. maybe your parents could give you a small allowance and you can save up? good luck!

Talk to your parents and their friends. I always have things around the house that I will gladly pay someone your age to help me with. Raking leaves, cleaning out cupboards or closets, organizing the garage, etc. Even helping prepare food and decorations, and clean up after holiday parties! I would pay $5 per hour for help with this type of stuff. Print out flyers to hand out. They might not realize until you let them know your available that they could get this or that project done that they've been putting off, with a little help. Just be sure you clear any jobs with your parents, and they know where you're going to be, who you're working for, and how long you will be there. Also be sure you state clearly your hourly rate, and discuss how long each project should take. Good luck!

My daughter was in your situation. Last week she started paper round. They were looking for paper girls/ boys. She read the ad in a shop's window. Rang the tel no and they just said 'come on Monday' The thing is she has to wake up at 5:30am and deliver 20 papers to certain houses. She comes back home about 6:30 and starts getting ready for school. I don't know how long she'll last -and I hope she does- but she enjoys being able to work and earn her own money...

16 with a work permit, is when you are allowed to work, but even though this is embarrassing, save up change. Make doesn't cost that much, you can buy the cheap stuff that works just as well as the good stuff. you probably need like 10 dollars. I have left over make up from lacome all the time and clinque too, since I am older I spend more money. Ask your mom to spend money on lacome like 24.50 or 30.00 and do that when they have their gift bags. Your mom will only be spending money on herself and she can give you the bag of make up

I think Dairy Queen hires 14-year-olds if you have one of those around. Or you could call other local businesses and ask. If there is nothing close to your house perhaps there is something close to your school and you could walk from school and have your parents pick you up when you are done. Otherwise try to think of something you can do for your neighbors. You could clean their houses, rake leaves, shovel snow, shop for elderly neighbors if there is a store in walking/biking distance, etc.

Hang around with people who love you until you can get money for yourself. Trust me you would be better off growing up mentally first before you jump into the real thing. Thats why you can't get hired as a manager because you don't know how to run the store!
