Hey, you are having a problem...don't beat yourself up over it. Sounds like you have decided to take control and thats your first step.
In July, I got a book on a Sonoma Diet. It's a Mediterranean-style diet. I quit drinking soda and drink 100 ounces of water a day. I started making changes in our diets following the Sonoma diet and using some recipes from the book. I quit buying junk food completely. I have lost 25 pounds and my husband has lost 15. I also started parking at the back of the lots and make myself walk.
This isn't a diet to start for a while then go back. This is a totally new way to look at eating. This is healthy for your whole family and great for heart health. AND IT WORKS.
Put 100% into this. Focus on your health, making meals, healthy snacks. I hate to exercise but I make myself do it......daring myself to make an extra lap when walking. I have spent so much time cooking healthy and shopping for the good stuff I haven't had time to splurge shop. But 3 weeks ago I had to get some jeans....3 sizes smaller. I am so determined now that I won't buy hardly anything because I plan on losing more weight. Believe me, once you get in control of your weight, you feel like you are in control of everything.
go to americanheart.org and search mediterranean for more information. If it sounds like food you would like then get a book. Amazon has the Sonoma Diet by Connie Guttersen for under $17. Best money I ever spent. I think the main thing is not to think of it as I diet, to think of it as a lifestyle change. This change has us drinking wine with our meals, which we never did at home. I think it helps to relax too.
Hope this helps. I have a pound of carrot sticks at work everyday to munch on. If I am craving sweets I eat grapes that day. And I go through lots of gum.
You need a good friend to complain to so you don't keep it bottled up. And as soon as you start making changes and getting in control, confess the spending to your husband. He'll be proud your started fixing this on your own.
If your family complains about food changes, too bad. Your are cooking healthy, thats all your are required to provide. You HAVE to make changes for your health.

I am on a restricted diet due to IBS. I have lost weight, gained energy and feel better about myself. I stay away from fatty/greasy foods, dairy (lactose intolerance), nuts, chocolate, FAST FOOD! There are others, but they aren't important for you. I felt the same way for a long time, but if you have enough will power you can change yourself! When I was told I couldn't eat what I wanted I was depressed, but you realize all the fun things you can eat. Try cutting out the fat and grease and if you crave sweets than get sugar free suckers or candy. You will get the fix without the calories. Also, don't get so depressed on things you can't change now. I get in those moods too and the best way to come out of it is to fess up, come up with a plan and move forward. Take a walk to relieve stress! GOOD LUCK!

Try a cleansing diet! I tried this and lost 11 pounds and 21 inches in 9 days. Then I continued it and lost 29 pounds in 5 weeks. This program works to remove the toxins in the body that are stored in the fat cells. You cannot get rid of the fat cells unless you get rid of the toxins. We get toxins from pesticides, preservatives, fast food additives, chemicals, pollution, smoke etc… I have been on Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast and Atkins. All work great for a few weeks then the weight loss slows to 1 or 2 pounds a week and the motivation drops. This was my first experience with cleansing and it worked wonderful! You can order at 1-877-587-4647. It is not a cheap program, but it works and is worth every penny! Give it a try and good luck!
I feel for you, I have been in your situation, you can pull through!

You are anxious, you are having anxiety. I think the first thing you should try to do, is to relax and give yourself sometime to feel better than start a diet. Diet is a daily sacrifice that requires discipline and will.
I have been addicted to sweets and chocolate for all my life, but I am skinny because I am permanently on diet plus I exercise every day. As an example, when I feel that my craves for sweet are very high, I check only the desert menu at the restaurant and I don't place a order for a main dish or anything else, plus I rarely drink alcohol.
I've learned to balance my diet towards to my cravings, for me, it has shown to be much easier prevent myself of having others types of food than my 'holy' chocolate and sweets. If you can observe and see what you crave more, you will be able to make a sharper choice about what you will eat, in order of you be able to satisfy your craving.
I told all of my doctors about this diet I do (with details) and none of them recommended me to stick on this diet, even thou my exams have come with good results.
Now, I am focus on lowering the amount of chocolate and sweets on my meals and I hope that step by step, I'll get more control about this craving until I have no craving for sweets or chocolate anymore but as you can see, I won't and I can't do this from day to night, it will take some time, maybe years until I get over of my sweets and chocolate cravings, but it has to be done.
I've learned also, from past diets experience, that was the rush that used to ruin with everything. We have to take diet, as a life time plain not a week or month plain but years and forever plain.
I hope I have provided you with some useful information. Good Luck!

I love WeightWatchers. You can join the actual meetings or just the online community. I like it because it's all about making better choices - I don't really feel like I'm on a diet. There is so much flexibility. If I want to eat a chocolate bar - I can, it just mean I have less room for other things. It's all about balance.
In addition, using the internet to track what I'm eating is great on days when I'm manic because I can sometimes catch myself before I make a bad decision.
Mania is definitely a tough thing to deal with and I'm sorry that you're going through this right now. My best advice is to try to keep your mind focused on what's important to you, and if you need someone to talk to because of everything you are feeling - find someone. I lose much more weight and handle mania much better when I'm seeing a therapist regularly - I find I "emotion eat" less.

The only diet that my hubsband & I have been able to follow successfully is the South Beach Diet. We have been losing weight gradually and are never hungry. I started by borrowing the book from the library. We liked it so much, that I bought the book and cook all meals. My husband brown bags it to work and we've lost a lot of weight....gradually. It's a very healthy diet for everyone including heart patients and diabetics.

I have adopted a 1200 calorie nutrition however there have been days wherein it might be a bit of greater or curb however on normal 1200 is a well calorie rely.... try to write down the whole thing you're consuming and except the object write what number of energy it's and hold including up so you'll be able to see what number of energy you'll be able to devour for the leisure of the day. Always devour breakfast!! :) well success

dont follow a diet like, south beach, atkins, zone, etc. they don't work. don't go for books with catchy titles like "lose 10lbs in two week!"... common now.... there is no secret... just eat right and exercise, thats the only way to do it. go to http://www.cinchplan.com/thehealthyway/analysis/index and figure out how many calories you need a day. I would suggest reading the book "french women don't get fat" its really good, and its not a diet book..it just explains the secrets of the french women, how they don't get fat, they can eat chocolate, pasta, wine. and they don't even have to go to the gym... I own the book, and its well worth the read.
