This is in no way meant to be negative toward the Amish. I will never show disrespect for ANY religion. It's just a matter of simple curiosity, since they don't use modern conveniences (cars, electricity, etc.) and tend to keep to themselves. I just wondered if they vote.

They would not vote as part of separating themselves. They do not join the military but the were conscripeted in WWII and served in civilian positions and not in the military. Some do use electricity in certain circumstances.

Those that follow the Amish way of life do not vote, they did not want to be involved in any political process. And would not think to run for any office. This would require pride, which is a sin to them. God bless

I believe that they do not vote - they are not required to register at 18 for the armed forces, they are a separate society within our society - I think....

call me dumb,i didn't know it was a religion.if they have a ss# they should have to vote,but from the looks of things they don't vote.NO DISRESPECT TO ANYONE.

I don't think that they vote, but they do pay certain taxes.

No I don't think they do. Nor do they serve in the military.
