To make dough batter:

Take Bisquick mix -- BUT instead of using water or milk as the liquid, you use coke.
- Then you form small dough balls and marinade them in coke.
- Next you fry these dough balls, and let drain.

Serve Fried Coke in a cup in this order:

- Splash of Coke in bottom of cup
- Add dough balls
- Top off with whip cream, a dash of cinnamon, and powdered sugar.

Deep-Fried Coca Cola

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups Coca Cola
Oil for deep frying

Topping:

1 cup Coca Cola syrup
whipped cream
maraschino cherries

Instructions:

1. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder.
2. Mix in eggs and Coca Cola and stir until a smooth batter forms.
3. Preheat oil in a skillet or deep fryer.
4. Pour 1/3 cup of batter into a funnel or turkey baster and in a circular motion pour batter into the hot oil.
5. Fry up for about a minute on each side and drain on paper towels.
6. Serve while still warm and top with Coca Cola syrup, whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.

Helpful Hints:

This is basically a funnel cake recipe, made even more popular at our NC State Fair with the addition of good ol’ Coca Cola. The kids love them because they’re so sweet and gooey. While you’re cooking up a batch, the batter may thicken. If this happens, thin the batter by adding more Coca Cola!

Follow the recipe on the Bisquick box for biscuits substituing the liquid with cola. Form the dough into balls then deep fry them and drain, then sprinkle or roll in powdered sugar.
To serve, put a small amount of cola in a parfait glass, add dough balls (the number depends on the size) and top with whipped cream and cinnamon.

They use "Funnel Cake Batter" & "Coca-Cola " syrup.

Here is the recipe to make the funnel cakes, instead of using the funnel, you need to roll the dough into ping -pong size balls and after frying them place the balls in a bowl or a cup and pour Coca-Cola syrup on them and top with whipped cream and cinnamon-sugar sprinkled on top.

Country Fair Funnel Cakes

You can make these at home with a little preparation. They will certainly cost less than the five dollar price tag we often see on these!

4-5 funnel cakes 4 min 2 min prep

2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
oil, for deep-frying
confectioners' sugar, for dusting

In a bowl, combine the eggs, milk, and brown sugar.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; beat into egg mixture until smooth.
In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees.
Cover the bottom of a funnel spout with your finger; ladle 1/2 cup batter into funnel.
Holding the funnel several inches above the skillet, release finger and move the funnel in a spiral motion until all of the batter is released (scraping funnel with a rubber spatula if needed).
Fry for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
Repeat with remaining batter.
Dust with confectioners' sugar; serve warm.
(Note that the batter can be poured from a liquid measuring cup instead of a funnel.).

You cannot fry a liquid without introducing it to an emulsifier to bind it together.
