'I would agree with everything Mindy said. For I too am in an identical situation to her. There's nothing wrong with meeting people thro' the internet, and if you then fall in love, distance becomes just a hurdle to overcome. In fact, meeting and falling in love thro the internet may be more real because the natural male/female urges that can sometimes get in the way, initially are not there. And so, you build up a strong friendship first. And that is the foundation of a strong relationship. So, definately, go for it

why are you texting through a friend?? if i were you i'd move on kiddo. i know a bit about the forces and if he's up North doing basic training then he's confined for 6 weeks, not 6 months(unless of course he wants to be). he could of course be going abroad for ops training but that wasn't how i read your question and in all honesty the fact you're texting via someone else speaks volumes to me.

well my bf and i also have a long distance relationship, and how do i handle it well, Well i just keep the communication open. But because you havent seen him yet. thats a little problem. because for you to be able to know how exactly you feel you should see the person first. no not because of his apperance or something but. it is much nicer if you could get to see how sincere he is rather than to hear him say i love you on the phone but doesnt really mean it. you should find a way to see him ASAP. goodluck

well i happen to know a bit about long distance relationships since im in one right now. I met this guy. he lives in the UK and i live in the USA... we started off as friends.... blah blah blah. then we got closer and i broke up with my current boyfriend. and now i've been going out with him for 3 and half months. we talk everyday. mostly on the computer. and sometimes on the phone. but the bills. we are pretty serious. we love eachother with all our hearts even though we havent met yet... we are planning to. we actually have a plan. i didnt think this long distance thing would work. but a month ago he told me wanted to marry me. he thinks im the one. he loves me with all his body and soul. so now look. i have a great llife. and plan to spend the rest of it with him. now my situation is just a lil hard then yours. but i say take the chance because i did and now look at this. it changed my life forever. so girlfriend take the chance. take the heartbreak. because in the end its much better then you ever thought it could be.good luck! :)

well, honestly i would wait until he is done with amry training if i was at your placer because army changes ppl mind a lot! but beside that, there isn't any problem with long distance relationship, because at least instead of spending all your time making out and i don't know you can spend time talking to him and get to know him even better!

Don't get too involved.

When you get the opportunity to meet up, do it asap but until then, keep it casual, go out and have fun. You can't know if it's going to go anywhere, until you've met face to face. It might work out, but there's a good chance it won't.
