Hi, the soul is immortal and does not die, whereas the body is mortal and dies.
we cannot possibly visualize what Heaven is like, we can only speculate, but Jesus told us this, no eye has seen,no ear has heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who love Him.

1. "Know thou of a truth that the soul, after its separation from the body, will continue to progress until it attaineth the presence of God, in a state and condition which neither the revolution of ages and centuries, nor the changes and chances of this world, can alter. It will endure as long as the Kingdom of God, His sovereignty, His dominion and power will endure. It will manifest the signs of God and His attributes, and will reveal His loving kindness and bounty."
2. "As to the question whether the souls will recognize each other in the spiritual world: this fact is certain; for the Kingdom is the world of vision where all the concealed realities will become disclosed. How much more the well-known souls will become manifest. The mysteries of which man is heedless in this earthly world, those he will discover in the heavenly world, and there will he be informed of the secret of truth; how much more will he recognize or discover persons with whom he hath been associated. Undoubtedly, the holy souls who find a pure eye and are favored with insight will, in the kingdom of lights, be acquainted with all mysteries, and will seek the bounty of witnessing the reality of every great soul. Even they will manifestly behold the Beauty of God in that world."
3. "... a love that one may have entertained for any one will not be forgotten in the world of the Kingdom. Likewise, thou wilt not forget (there) the life that thou hast had in the material world."

Dear r1, The BIble says that we die and our souls live on and face Gods Judgement. When you face God's Judgement, you will be Judged under Gods law Ten Commandments, and have to give an acount of every thought word and deed. Let's look at a few of the Comandments to see How you will do.......
Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and the BIble says "he who hates his brother is a murderer." (1 John), have you ever hated someone? bearing in mind that nothing you have ever done is hid from his Holy eyes, would you be innocent or guilty on Judgement day? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and the penalty for your sin is death and Hell. That’s not God’s will. He provided a way for you and I to be forgiven.
He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, and If you will Repent (turn from sin) and place your faith and trsut in Jesus, God will forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life.
God Bless

The Bible plainly says that man "became a living soul..." at the creation of Adam. Read Ezekiel 18:4 and verse 20:
"The soul that sinneth it shall die!" But don't just take my word for it, look it up in your own Bible, and you will see the absolute PROOF that we are not possessed of an "immortal soul" at all, but that there is, in fact, a "spirit in man" of which the Bible speaks; that spiritual quality of the mind of we human beings which lifts us far above the animal plane; makes us human, made in the image and similitude of God, possessed of a conscience, able to build character, and creatures of free moral agency and volition.
The Bible plainly shows that, at death, there is no further consciousness! Solomon said, plainly, that he did not know whether the spirit returned to God, or went back down into the earth-but one thing he knew, as did David his father, there is no further consciousness in death!
What would God want with all of those "souls," anyway? Have you ever heard a sermon wherein the pastor tried to tell you what you will be doing the third year you are "up in heaven"? How about your thirtieth year, three hundredth year, or the end of your third millennium? Life on this earth can be fairly interesting-especially if it involves a good deal of education, travel, and a wide range of experience. As Solomon said, our eyes are never satisfied; our ears are never filled. our thirst and taste never truly sated. Just because we have seen one gorgeous sunset does not mean we want it to be our last, we are not yet tired of hearing the beautiful sounds of nature, of beautiful music, the voice of loved ones, the happy laughter of our own babies-in short, we human beings are never really through living so long as we can still enjoy life!
What if the Bible promises you, not "heaven" in some wraith-like condition of a "soul" wafting around shuffling through harp music for billions of years, but promises you, instead. the first one-thousand years of co-rulership with Jesus Christ busily straightening out the incredible evils that grip this planet?
What if the Bible issued to you such challenges as becoming a mayor, president, king or ruler over small or great countries? What if, once given the great wisdom, patience, understanding, vast knowledge and experience, you are also equipped with the spiritual POWER to carry out your edicts? What would you do? Would you see to it there was no more crime? Would you eradicate poverty? Would you do away with sickness and disease? Would you outlaw war? Would such an opportunity be desirable?
Believe it or not, Almighty God DOES offer you an opportunity to help straighten out this world in the millennial reign of Jesus Christ! And, believe it or not, God is going to outlaw war, yet, human nature will remain pretty much the same during the first one-thousand years of the rulership of God's kingdom on this earth!
No, the world is not a "soul farm" with thousands dying daily and going either to "heaven or to hell." YOUR OWN BIBLE TELLS YOU PLAINLY WHAT REALLY IS GOING TO HAPPEN!

The soul dies.
We are under the Adamic original sin and our soul dies.
Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
But soon that curse will end.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The universe is a passageway to a higher world which we call heaven. In this world we have a body to manifest the world and a soul to experience it. In the next world , all our manifestation is done in the soul, so when we quit this world, it is the body that dies but the soul lives on.

The soul is eternal and does not die.
Heaven/Hell and other places are just areas that you continue your journey on so that you may return to God.
We came here to this earth to experience things and learn from them. When our bodies die our souls go on to another place to learn new and different things. The journey of all souls is to be healed and return to God.

Let me assure you that the Bible teaches the life we live after we die will be real—just as real as this life, if not more so. We won't be in a state of dreamlike consciousness, but we will fully exist in body, mind and soul.
The pattern for this is Jesus Himself. When Jesus died on the cross and was laid in a tomb, His physical body was completely and absolutely dead. But He came back to life by the power of God—and when He did, He had a different type of body, without the limitations it once had. His resurrected body wasn't an illusion; it was a glorious and immortal body that was just as real as His earthly body had been.
And someday, if we know Christ, we too will be given new bodies—bodies like Christ's resurrected body. The Bible says, "So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable" (1 Corinthians 15:42). Our bodies in heaven will be real, and so will our whole existence. Only in this way will we be able to serve God.
But the real question is this: Are you ready for that day? Do you know—really know—that if you were to die tonight, you would go to be with Christ in heaven forever? You can know, by confessing your sins and your need of Christ, and trusting Him alone for your salvation. Salvation is real—and it can be yours by putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ today.

No, your soul is the main crucial area of you as that's what is going to survive constantly. you need to study the thoughts of a few Saints that observed Heaven, Purgatory and Hell. Heaven is obviously previous words. In Purgatory, there is lots of suffering yet no longer as undesirable as Hell---you apart from could stay with the insurance and convenience which you're being purified and are ultimately going to be in Heaven with God. yet, as for the souls who're damned in Hell, they go through excrutiating pains---greater than a number of people who've seen Hell say that if their mom or father Angels and/or the Blessed Virgin Mary hadn't been there with them, they might have died of fright. on the plus side, it makes them pray greater for the souls in Purgatory and for sinners so as that they do no longer bypass to Hell
