Some dogs like cold weather. I had a spaniel that would sleep on the ground in front of his dog house. Several times when it snowed overnight, he would still be there the next morning, covered with snow.
He could come the house anytime he wanted, he just preferred to be outside. It must not have been too hard on him, he lived 18 years.

Who knows. Dogs do some weird stuff. My chocolate lab sleeps in bed with us. She sleeps right in between us, under the covers with her head on the pillow. She's 85 pounds so its quite an ordeal.

Maybe the dog houses are too small, or maybe they just like to be outside. Do they ever spend anytime in the dog house? Try putting blankets or cedar chips on the floor to home it up a bit. Dogs love their owners so maybe they sleep in the yard so they can be closer to you or so they can see you if you come outside.

I'm not sure how cold it is, but I would still bring them in. They are puppies and will do better to bond with you since you are their pack.

Also, it's a misconception that because a dog has fur they are fine to leave outside in cold weather. If it's too cold for you to be standing barefoot outside, then it's too cold for them.

WHOA where did that hogwash come from ! ! ! Dogs have survived outside in the wild for about 100,000 years, and some breeds like the Wolf, fox, etc,etc still do today.
Breeds such as the Husky were developed to withstand extreem tempetures. I can guarentee you Roald Amundsen DID NOT build 52 dog houses at the South Pole.

Husky, chow has lots of fur. It is layered to keep them warm. Maybe they just don't like the dog houses. Maybe it gets to hot in there for them.

maybe because you need to let them in the house when it's cold or even the porch.
