There are too many factors to consider. Weight, bore, stroke, gear ratio , tire size ,auto/standard trans , aerodynamics, etc . But if your looking at new cars look at the estimated mpg hwy and city .
My guess is the 6 cyl if they are both the same cubic displacement , more smaller parts tend to be more efficient.

More cylinders use more fuel. A 4 cylinder has a power stroke every 180 degrees, a six cyliner every 120 degs and a V8 every 60 degrees. You get more torque with more cylinders but it will hurt the mileage. Larger displacement small motors have a broader power curve and still get slightly better mileage than a larger motor. If you need to run a small motor at a much higher RPM in order to move your vehicle then it may get worse mileage, but at idle the smaller engine will get better mileage. Also, more than half of city driving is idle and decelerate, so for economy less cylinders is better.

You have new car fever! I can tell you have been reading the showroom glossy foldouts. The toyota camry has either a 2.4 liter four cyl or a 3.0 liter V-6, 2007 Nissan Altima is worth a look too. as for your question the EPA estimates are on the window sticker of every new car. and the 6 will operate more smoothly come with more features and be worth more at trade in time expect 2/4 miles less to a gallon or about $20/30 more a month.

Depends on driving style. If it is a V6, with a DOHC with variable timing it will probably consume less fuel in comparison to a 4-in-line of the same capacity, when you are doing speeds in excess of 45mph. 6-cyls deliver more power and higher torque distributed more evenly through each cycle.

The 4 cylinder will be more efficient. The six will burn more while creating the same power as the four. It takes more fuel to fire six cyliders than four.

they don't, 6 cylinder will consume more, (that is quite obvious). depends on what you want, but 6 cylinder is better, but not on the fuel efficiency part...

If they are the same age as well then the 6cylinder will drink more gas than the 4 for sure if they are driven the same way etc

The more cylinders, the more petrol it will consume.
