Went out last night - drank lots..danced lots. But I always have that feeling of dread the next morning. It's more than a hangover - a state of mind. Does anyone else have that feeling?

I wasn't taking any drugs - just drinking lots. Far too much. Gettng worried about the amount I am drinking when I go out. Seem unable to have 'a few'. I am constantly getting completely trashed.

depression after night out could indicate sense of guilt of some kind we all become stagnated in our routines in life, you need to widen your horizons, do something a bit different now & again, the dread you feel is the chemical imbalance brought on through drinking alchol, to help this try drinking one or two pints of cold water before retiring.

It also has alot to do with sleep deprivation. Sleep and dreaming is essencial for health of the mind and body, Alcohol disrupts sleep, add the physical effects of a hangover on top of that and your in for a miserable day, i get it too, just try to remember how your feeling is a direct result of drinking and that it will wear off, or drink less, or less often.

Alcohol can completely screw up you state of mind and hormones. I'm not saying don't drink - I drink myself - but alcohol can affect different people in different ways. I know one guy who gets very depressed after drinking whiskey, another who feels like you the next day (he's given up drink completely now).

If alcohol is affecting you seriously then try one of the following:
- Try to identify if certain alcohol affects your mood more severely and limit/cut that out
- Limit the amount you drink in the first place. If you get smashed every time you go out then it could point to some underlying problem (insecurities?....)

Yes I do get that sometimes, obviously it is because alchohol is a depressant but not everyone seems to get this feeling.

I think the key is not to drink so much you can't remember what you've done or do things you regret or that are out of character, easier said than done though!!

Moderation in all things
brings the flavor to savor !!
Major rule to live by--from a salty dawg whose been around the block a couple of times !!
You get the party and still have yourself in the morning !!

Don't go the route of allowing yourself to reach the point where
you stop having the party and the party starts having YOU !!!

Basically the theory of "what goes up must come down" should sum up why we feel like we do after a heavy night on the intoxicants

Yes, probably because you're feeling you've overdone it and you should have known better. Perhaps it's just that it's over and you've not got anything to look forward to. Start planning something nice to do mid-week like having friends over for dinner or going swimming and start looking forward to that instead and you'll feel better.

yeah i always think of what i could've done better the night before. like asked that girl for her number etc. but try and learn from my mistakes and don't expect much on a night out then when you have a blast it feels so much sweeter.

Obviously not out with me! why drink to excess when you in your heart of hearts know you will suffer if not now later on in life.

alcohol is a depressant and after the "high" of the night there has to be a "come down"
