Grilling is done over an open flame while an oven cooks by roasting/baking in a hot environment and microwaves cook by radio waves (microwaves) generated by the magnetron exciting the water molecules in foods so that they create heat by the friction of these molecules rubbing together.

Flame - Grilled food has been cooked over an open flame with a grate that allows all of the fats to drip off and away. Grilled on a flat skillet means that it has been cooked in oil of some sort and while the fats may have some of an escape, it is a very unhealthy method of cooking. An example of this might be a grilled cheese sandwich.

The George Foreman grill however, has raised bumps in it and is slanted to allow fats again, to drip off and away.

Grilled meats and veggies are delicious and some people prefer the taste of charcoal on their foods. However, that adds another aspect of unhealth. Charcoal flamed food has carcinogens deposited onto the food, making them potential agents that lead to cancer.

Oven baked foods can be many varieties and it simply heats the food by heating the outside and working its way into the food until it is done. Depending on the ingredients of what is in the oven, the foods can be either healthy or unhealthy, delicious or not.

Microwaved food works by the microwaves going into the core of the food first and then radiating outward. The foods cook more rapidly because the core temperature of the foods is raised but they also cook unevenly, making some places hot and others not. One disadvantage of microwaved food is that it alters the food at the molecular level. We are not able to see the changes with the naked eye and the food appears the same, but when studied under a microscope, subtle changes do occur at the molecular level and one wonders if the food is then still healthy for you.

Grill is cooked over an open flame. Oven I believe heats from the outside in and takes long. Microwave heats from the inside out and doesn't take as long. To me, microwave is best for vegetables. Oven and grilling are best for meats.
