The AIDS epidemic in Africa is a complicated issue.

Promiscuity is the cause for the spread of the disease in any country or culture. Condoms (even when used properly) do little to prevent the spread of the disease, contrary to what our own government tells us.

The secondary cause for the spread of infection is the lack of drugs to help control HIV and prevent an infected mother from passing the disease on to her baby.

The government in Africa does not educate its people about the disease and very few people there understand what HIV/Aids is, how one contracts it, and how to treat it.

We have a responsibility to Africa and the world to resolve this problem.

Yes because the heads of government refuse to admit to it's populations that it is causing AIDS. The governments of these countries are too poor to buy AIDS drugs and so they tell people to use garlic instead. A lot of it is caused by being born to someone who has AIDS too and have contracted it inuterine. A large percentage of the population are ignorant and it is not their fault.
