+ The Church is holy +

The Most Holy God is her author; Christ, her bridegroom, gave himself up to make her holy; the Spirit of holiness gives her life. Since she still includes sinners, she is "the sinless one made up of sinners." Her holiness shines in the saints.

The Bible states that anyone who possesses the Holy Spirit is holy. The Bible speaks of a holy man of God, holy ones, a holy people, a holy nation, and holy brothers.

That is why Mary is blessed (holy). The angel Gabriel called her, "Full of grace" and, "The Lord is with you."

A few unholy people do not make the entire Catholic Church of over one billion believers unholy.

With love in Christ.

There's corruption in the Church -- but that means that there are people in the Church who are corrupt. It doesn't mean that the Church itself is corrupt.

The Church is Christ's. It is not the Pope's, or the bishops', or the priests' or even ours. It is Christ's Church, and His alone.

Christ said that not even the powers of hell would prevail against His Church.

Well, the powers of hell surely have tried -- schisms, wars, bad popes, corrupt bishops, priests who molest kids, apathetic laity, and so on.

But the Church remains holy and carries out its earthly mission, because Christ promised that nothing would prevail against it.

That's why it is the spiritual home to more people than is any other religion. It's also why the Catholic Church is the single largest charitable/humanitarian organization in the world.

In all fairness, there is corruption in almost all churches. It may be one person who is corrupt but that is still corruption. It may interest you to know that Satan knows as much if not more about the bible than most Christians and attends church regularly. There is no large group of any religion or group of people period that is without the proverbial bad apples. What you have to learn to do is understand that the scriptures are holy and that is what you should be following. Not man, for no man is Holy but God himself.

From Paragraph 867 of the Catechism of the Catholic Churh

"The Church is holy: the Most Holy God is her author; Christ, her bridegroom, gave himself up to make her holy; the Spirit of holiness gives her life. Since she still includes sinners, she is "the sinless one made up of sinners." Her holiness shines in the saints; in Mary she is already all-holy."

From Paragraph 946 of the Catechism of the Catholic Churh

"After confessing "the holy catholic Church," the Apostles' Creed adds "the communion of saints." In a certain sense this article is a further explanation of the preceding: "What is the Church if not the assembly of all the saints?" The communion of saints is the Church."

The Catholic Church has struggled with corruption from within and without since Judas.

The Catholic Church remains one, holy, catholic, and apostolic because Jesus wills it to be so.

Jesus founded the Catholic Church, gave it sweeping authority and power in his name, and promised to head it, guide it, and keep it, until the end of the age, when he also promised to return for it.

God made all these promises to his Church without qualification or limitation.

The gates of hell will never prevail against the Catholic Church, no matter what type of corruption afflicts those who rule it or belong to it.

Anyone who maintains otherwise denies the power and supremacy of God, and calls Jesus a liar.

I believe that ALL churches are corrupted in that they use their power to instill fear and control among their members.

They are corrupted in that they thrive on money and do most anything to get it.

They are corrupted in telling their followers only what they want them to know. Do you have any idea HOW MANY books the Catholic church keeps under lock and key because they do not want the information getting out?

If it's God you want to worship then do it. But don't for a second think that the only way to worship is to attend church.

Jesus did not advocate churches - in fact, he detested their corruption.

The catholic Church is holy because the Holy Spirit resides in teh catholic Church and Jesus Christ is the head of teh Catholic Church, the Body of Christ and jesus Christ is holy.

The holiness of the Church is not a result fo teh actions of the people, but from God who sanctifies the Church.

The timing of this question is uncanny because this is what i will be teaching at faith formation class tonight.

have no doudt all religions are holy
just because a few evil people abuse the trust and faith a particular religion shows them is not a failing of faith but a decieved trust ,
betrayal of trust one extends to another
we know not what is in a mans heart untill it becomes revealed ,please note many are being revealed from all beliefs ,it is the purpose and reason of belief to support true belief ,but when evil does evil it is not the failings of religions it is the failings of individuals who decieved.
