About KPHB colony (Kukatpally Housing Board Colony): It welcomes you with a statue of Mahatma Gandhi and an uncompleted arch. It was buit in early 1980's. When built it was the largest colony in Asia.

I think the largest colony was India (in British period).
But biggest country is Russia.

you've phrased your question wrong... anyway, i've understood what you meant...

you'd be pleased to note that Jayanagar, in Bangalore, is supposed to be the largest residential layout/colony in Asia.

however, i for one feel it's a pretty lame reason to be noted... there are much better and important things that should be in the record books... but anyway, this is it!
