i have to get from girona airport to barcelona airport on weds evening, my flight lands in gerona at 5.20 and i have to get another flight at barcelona airport which leaves at 9.50. will i make it across barcelona and make check in etc

There isn't a flight shown to arive at 17:20 (I asume you don't mean 5:20 in the morning).
Take the Barcelona bus to Barcelona bus station. You can buy tickets while you wait for you luggage. The journey takes 1:10. Then take another bus to BCN airport.
4 hours should be plenty of time.

Do you mean Reus Airport?
As far as I know Girona is about 50 minutes from Barcelona.

Around 100 km. So, I guess 1:30/ 2:00 hours.
