I am Rational Spirituality,

Intelligent animals, like elephants, they precisely sense that moment and are instinctively led to places where to die. Any human being with a little of inner sense can feel the same, only many people oppress their inner feelings.

If you read the story of Abraham Lincoln, he had a vision of a dead president prior to his assassination, and he told his assistant on leaving the office on the last day of his life "Good bye".

I think that it is a gift by the Universe to be given this sense, for it allows us to prepare. Only fools are scared of it and throw it away.

I would say yes you can. That is of, course, if you die of natural causes. I believe your body has built in senses that tell you your time is up. And there many stories told by soldiers that fought in wars that they knew they were not going to be killed and they weren't. While others said before hand that they would be. And they were. Being killed in a war is not "by natural causes" but still the sense is there. I think that, in old age, your body tells you that you have had it and the will to live is overcome by the need to rest and move on to whatever is there.

I was a para-medic for about ten years and have seen many people die. Some know it and you can not convince them oherwise but most have no idea. You can be talking to them and all of a sudden they are gone. One reasonably young lady who appeared to have only minor problems told me that she was dying and nothing could be done. All the way to the hospital I kept reassuring her that she would be find.We left her in the emergency room and as I was leaving the hospial I heard the nurse shout out for help. She was dead. With the majority of people it is the reverse, they cling on to life to the last breath but it is not something we can escape. It is far better to make your peace with God and be ready to go at any time.

I think it is.
My mother seemed to know and accept it. She made her peace with God two days before she told me to have them remove the ventilator and the feeding tube.
She knew she'd never come off the vent and breathe on her own, if she did she'd only live maybe a month, if that long and that would be in a long term care facility and not at home.
She seemed to know it was going to happen and accepted the fact.

It seems that way at times. Like my father giving away prized possessions and feeling the need to explain himself. My uncle Bruce (who was 20) went and bought people things and came home for a visit. Also had decided to get his life straitened up and get it together at college.

I think it is.
My Mom died in 1987, and an hour before she passed she wanted to have a long talk with my Dad. Although I don't know what they talked about, the only thing he would say is that she died in peace. The same thing happened to my Dad in 2003, he wanted to say his goodbyes to all of us before he died, as he knew he couldn't fight cancer any longer.

ya. but you couldnt do any thing at that moment you would be asking the angel of death to delay you sometime so you could do some more virtues if you are a muslim. and if you are a non muslim you would ask the angel to delay you to embrace islam and die.
