Windows live messenger wont let me sign in could this be because I removed active x by mistake

that is not right i dont have active x . installed on system it is off
go to start control panel add-remove .add remove windows components hit un-check windows messengr hit on next . then re-check windows messenger . then hit next . then go back to microsoft website & redownload windows live messenge& set up

No! I Have windows messenger and i dont have active ex!
