I am looking for a though out question....How "good a heart" makes the grade?

Realize a good heart means different things in the diverse worldviews of all God's cultures and peoples. I have heard stories from Americans living in the Middle East. They say the people they meet have such good hearts. They are SO much more hospital to strangers(even to "rich white Americans") and caring of their neighbors that they put the average Americans to shame. They also give more to the poor than we do(percentage wise). But of course the same Muslim person might believe it is fine to support terrorism against Islam's enemies or makes his wife feel like a second class citizen. Do these people have a good enough heart for heaven?
2nd part: What insight do u have that a holy "God" would agree that your system is better/fair? (Those who don't believe in Heaven as well as devout x-ians pls abstain from this. Thanks.)

I'm really looking for answers from those who hold the view that the question poses, not from those who don't. (I'd appreciate it if devout religious folk from any organized religion, abstain from selling your views. Maybe you can learn something from just reading :) )

well you should be glad Christianity even exist if you're really Jewish (to person above me) since you ARE one of Jesus elect. Because its the only way to reach God, Jesus died for us, Muhammad has them die for him.......make sense?

I suppose most people with a sound mind understand the diff between right and wrong. The 10 commandments have gotten it right for thousands of years. The basic rule of any society is to do no harm and do your best to help your people survive. The different religions preach a reward for your following of the religious doctrine. Christians/ Jews have a basic connection of doing for others. There are other religions that promise more like, virgins ( a twisted and corrupted view of the religion). Remember the Raelians? They were supposedly Christians who corrupted their religion. They were brainwashed into committing suicide to gain access to a spaceship. Most people have a need to belong and some religions exploit this for their leaders agenda. examples: terrorism in the Muslim religion, gathering of excessive wealth in the Christian religion, mass suicides in any religion. I believe in the Christian/Jewish teachings (that's not to say I am not a fan of the Hindu, Muslim or any other religion). I feel if I do my best to serve my family, self and community I also serve God. It makes me feel good. That is my interpretation of 12 years of grade/ high school and 4 yrs of Cath college. I dunno if this answers ur Q but it may help in giving a look at the way someone else views religion. Long story short, I think any religion can be corrupted by brainwashing their followers by using the basic human need of belonging. That is why terrorrists blow themselves up and old ladies donate their life savings to false "saviors". These are the extreme few percentages of each religion. I hope to make it to heaven one day and I follow my religious teachings as well as I can.

Thought provoking question. Obviously God judges the heart and he judges how much we've loved so He is infinitely better at this than we can ever evaluate.

I do think though that religion is a great aid in helping us to do good so that we can do things that love our neighbors. So even if we don't feel "spiritual" we can still be doing good. Whereas if one were just "spiritual but not religious", what happens when they're just "feeling" good, but not really acting on it?

Hope that help. God bless.

Christians that have repented of their sins and have asked Jesus into their hearts as Savior are the only ones going to heaven. Being good has nothing to do with it. Having a good heart has nothing to do with it. Your good works only matter after you have asked Jesus into your life. You will be asked about it on Judgment Day.

First of all, it's hard for a rich man to make it to heaven, Jesus said that. Second, you can have a good heart all you want, but if you're not saved, you're not going to heaven. Third, you don't get to heaven by works alone.

undergo in recommendations confess along with your mouth and have faith on your coronary heart and you'd be stored...if one like the thief on the pass somewhat repents God will receive them. regardless of the shown fact that salvation isn't a settlement made wiith the magic words. in case you suspect the gospel is actual and desire to stay in sin and reject the goodness and mercy of God your complicated will grow to be complicated and at your deathbed you won't have the potential to deliver your self to make the confession.

Ephesians 2 : 8 - 9 ....... For by grace are ye saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves : it is a gift from God : Not of works , lest any man boast ...............Galatians 2 : 16 .....Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law , but by the faith of Jesus Christ , that we might be justified by the faith of Christ , and not by the works of the law : for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified .
