What stages are you talking about.
There can be many different types of stages.
Like Birth---Childhood----Puberty-----Marrige-----Death etc

In Christianity we can go through these with out relationship with God:

-baby & child
- adolescent
-adulthood

& also in our relationship with fellow christian we should have these stages:

-son & daughter
-young man or lady
-father & mother
