Nothing wrong with being shy, it usually means you don't have to wade through all the bull other girls get thrown their way. Better to be respected as someone more special than talked to like you're just one of the boys.

the answer is very simple actually...
you have a communication skill problem. read on it, personal development, if you are really that interested.
back to your problem... try saying hi with a big smile on your face to everyone (guys and girls). i am saying that you should do this at work, but it would do miracles if you do it anywhere (and i mean really anywhere even to complete strangers).
warm hellos really improve communication and makes room for further warm topics...
in time your problem should get fixed on its own. don't expect results that other women have. you are different than them, so the results should be the one you get. you'll know when you got it, because it starts to feel right.
i did the same. i started saying hellos to women on the streets. especially to women i would of liked to talk to, but the game gives better results if you say hello to anybody... eventually i started having full conversation with women on the streets, sometimes flirty, other times when i was too shy just asking for opinions.
a good method to overcome shyness was to have close friends around me that make me wanna be communicative and to listen a song or two before going out that really gives me high energy (a little aerobics could work for you as well).

They might be afraid that you might not take the joke the same way as the others. Or, they just might find you unapproachable if you're too shy (I'm the same way).
Maybe try joking around with them, and see what happens then. They might see that they can joke around with you, and do it more often now that they know you like to joke around too.

i am a person that picks and inoccently flirts, but i am very carefull.
if u r shy they might be afraid of hurting ur feelings or worried they might get harrasment charges.
my adivce is find the one that is easy going and the pick on him. u know which one i am talking about the one the others respect, but still give him a bad time out of fun. this will be the one everyone joins around, because he is always in a good mood, and he brightens everyones day.

Healthy flirting should be a two way street, you should get up the nerve to flirt first. That way they realize it's cool to even come at you like that. Remember, to flirt is to make you and another feel good at one time. Try starting with a some what risky joke. Good luck!!!

because your shy they havent been able to get a good view of your personality, they probably think that if they joke with you in a risque manner that you may be offended.. so take it as a complement that they like you enough to not wanna hurt your feelings.. i would kinda work on getting out of the cocoon of shyness you are shrouded in ... i think you need to go out to the club let some drunk *** men hit on you , and joke around with them ..

they wont joke wiv u because ya may come across as quiet even though you are just shy (my mate has the same problem) and they may not think you will appreciate their joking around. when ya next go to work try to be more outgoing and less shy, this will probably work! gud luck

Maybe they just respect the fact you're shy.I would tell them a couple of rude jokes, then they'll get to have a better idea of what you're all about,it should break the ice.

With the ultra-sensitive climate of political correctness and hyper-responsive sexual harassment policies, it's no surprise that they don't want to let you in on the joke. They probably want to protect their jobs. After all, you could be one of those women who over-react and construe a simple joke as sexual harassment.
