Pain or nerves. Some people hate needles, can't handle the pain, or are just freaked when they start realizing it's permanent.

A combination of pain and anxiety, usually.
Anxiety is usually the more common. Most of the time, people who have come close to or actually passed out on me were very nervous prior to the tattoo.

Well, tattoos are very painful. They do use needles, you know. Some people just can't take the pain like others can. Sometimes pain is just too much for a person, causing them to pass out.

I actually almost passed out when i got my first one but that was just cause I hadn't eaten all day and the tattoo was big and I bled a bit so that didn't help much. But my other two i didn't have a problem with. It just all depends on your nerves and pain threshold and whether or not you've eaten before you go :)

you should alway eat before getting inked, it will help keep you from getting light headed/passing out.
People get all worked up, tighten thier muscles, are excited and scared at the same time.
Its not uncommon to get a little pale and queasy when getting a 1st tat.. or one in a particulary sensative spot. My Firefighter friend (big many man) almost passed out and so did my friend who was getting her 2nd tat across her lower back, it was really big too.

hope that helped.

people pass out when theyre getting tattooed cause they dont breathe!!they hold there breath while the needles going in and the lack of oxygen makes them pass out

A lot of the reason people pass out is because they end up holding their breath through the pain.. It is a natural reaction, but you can make yourself breath.. I hold my breath sometimes in the more painful areas, but then have to remind myself to breath.

Never heard of people passing out. But I would think that if they did it would be because of the endorphins. It don't hurt that bad but some peoples endorphins kick in and may cause them to pass out do to the pain they are experiencing.

Fear, they get them selves so worked up and bingo out they go. That old beck and cry I need to get drunk before I get a tattoo is hogwash, the more you drink the more you bleed, booze of any kind thins your blood, so get a coffee or soda and enjoy the experience.
