I see people bashing us, scorning us, lashing out about us, saying we are warmongers, and ALL of the other things I can't recall. Why? Do all these people really, really hate us THAT much? They forget that the everyday American has no control over crap going on in the world. So why the hate?
The typical American citizen prolly has no problem with ANYBODY as long as you don't push our buttons or rub us the wrong way...
so why do I feel we are going into a worldwide social blackhole then? To all of you out there that feel I am somehow responsible for all the crap, oh well.
Oh, 1 more thing, if we and America is SO bad...why do you keep flocking here like birds? Why would you wanna come to a place crammed with "warmongers"?
Americans are really not that bad...not at all. Why the bad rap?

Thank you for all the replies. Some one said that what we may be facing is not hate, but jealousy....is it?

They didn't hold the American people responsible for the war in Iraq when it began but when Bush was re-elected they took it to mean that the country was behind him. Since Bush stated during his first term that he wanted to be known as the "war president" I would say it's safe to say he is a warmonger & since we re-elected him that means to others that we are too.
Even though we are considered to be warmongers, everyone still acknowledges that our country gives its people freedoms not given by many other countries. America is seen as a safe haven from all the atrocities taking place around the world

Read some books by authors that dont show up on Fox News every three days, watch the Daily Show if that is all the intellectual high brow you can ingest.. But please,, Oh please do something..

1) You elected him to a second term. Complaining about the system is common, but when do you ever do something to change it? It's your votes and the money that funds the election campaigns passes through your hands -- that means that you each have control over where it goes. Use it wisely.
2) U.S. politicans are mostly smarmy, condescending twits. You can tell one on the telly just by the way they speak, as if what they're saying is so obviously true that you must be an idiot if you disagree. Of course what they're saying is nearly always a significant distortion of reality.
3) Your government has this nasty habit of bullying the rest of the world into doing what the U.S. wants. You know, wee things like telling people how they should be governed, or limiting the right of other countries to protect their citizens and resources from U.S. corporate exploitation. Or throwing a temper tantrum every time the EU stands up to them and says, "No we don't want your untested toxic garbage and GE produce."
4) You said it all: "The typical American citizen prolly has no problem with ANYBODY as long as you don't push our buttons or rub us the wrong way..."
Can you get your head out of your long enough to see the arrogance and stupidity in that? The rest of the world is not your sandbox.

Personally, I believe its the whole history of the country from the beginning of time. I am not an American and I know that they just happen to be normal people but the way they are represented convinces me and many others that they are after one thing; ruling the world.
Most of the wars or disagreements between several countries have seen that the American leaders must stick their nose into it and try to "help", when they usually make things worse.
When you say the American people didn't start the war in Iraq and only bush has, you are completely wrong. Bush did send orders to start it but the troops are the ones who ended up doing what they had to do. Normally, troops are the American people who come from American families who support their sons and daughters when they go to this so-called war.
Therefore, the Americans have contributed in the war in Iraq.
Many of you might disagree with me, but this is my point of view on the matter.

I sympathize with your desire to have a infant yet this may well be a undesirable, undesirable undesirable theory! Legally: no longer basically can your chum get fired if caught, in maximum places this may well be a criminal. and you're an adjunct. until you % to have somewhat one in penitentiary, forget it. Biologically: there's a reason in vitro fertilization is a low yield proposition: The circumstances do no longer prefer impregnation. this is the reason it generally takes multiple tries. permit's settle for it - the "widespread" way of fertilization generally takes a a number of tries (on known). Ethically: people who donate sperm gain this decrease than very strict circumstances and decrease than the coverage that their genetic textile would be used accurately. they have a excellent to have that expectation fulfilled. And what might you tell your infant? That they have been the made from a criminal offense? Please think again.

Sorry but I don't think Bush started anything. When 911 hit ;all of America was screaming to do something and when he does he gets slammed for it. Do you really think any other person that would be President wouldn't have done the same thing. I don't. I think any of them Republican or Demorcate would have done the same thing he did. We're not bad. How can we be bad when everyone from other countries can live here and not pay taxes and get all the free everything they can. Their jealous of us and think that we're all rich like the movie stars they see on T.V.. They don't know how to separte reality from fantasy. And for the record ; all of you from countries that are in this war with us, it was your own goverment that put you there because they felt it was the right thing to do as well., so get over it and blame your own goverment. There were other nationalities in the twin towers when it was hit, not just ours.

I am a born US citizen who immigrated to Canada 40 years ago and now also am a naturalized Canadian citizen. I still love the USA very much and I am very interested in what is going on there and so I try to keep up with the news in regards to the USA. In my humble opinion, I don't think that the USA is really so much "hated" as "envied" by most of the rest of the world. It's almost like a parent/child relationship - the rest of the world is constantly testing the limits of the USA, just like teenagers do of their parents. They act like they hate their parents, but when they get into trouble, who do they run to? Their parents! Just like the rest of the world looks to the USA to help them every time they get into a jam. It's true!

I've had Americans as neighbours, met hundreds as tourists, and visited the US a couple of times. The vast majority were great people.... Unfortunately your leaders as representatives have led your country astray. ...and many people judge you as a whole according to the actions of those few idiotic leaders.

Let'em bash us. They hated us before we went to Iraq and they will hate us long after we leave. Bush didn't start anything, those people have been fighting each-other since the beginning of time. I guess you'd rather take another one in the rear by the terrorist bastards than fight back.

Noone will be able to answer that, I truly believe that they really just think we are all in on it. They are ANGRY - but we can't blame them for their anger. 9/11 for example Americans wanted revenge and took it out on anyone and everyone who was thought to be involved - innocent and guilty. WE WERE ANGRY - while those few who were innocent ask amungst themselves the same Q.
