I just asked how did Catholics come up with that image of Him as we see on tv, pictures, and the like, when there isn't any camera that time. Some claimed that when Veronica wiped the face of Jesus, His sweat and blood in the clothe was formed, that's why they had it figure that that was the picutre of Christ. And if that is true, where is the clothe now?

Hmm. This one is usually well-answered long before this. Where are all of you? ;-)

The Jesus mythos is quite clear that he was a Middle Eastern Jew, but the image we associate with him today came out of Renaissance art. (Think Leonardo's Last Supper.) This trend began in Italy over 100 years before it traveled up into Northern Europe, which is why it has an especially strong link with Catholicism.

The painters and sculpters used local people as their models. Sometimes their wealthy patrons, more often laborers or prostitutes. This is well-established fact and the identities of many of these models are known.

So the image of Jesus that you're used to seeing is the epitome of good looking men, by 14th-16th century Italian standards.

i didnt think so, during the time of Jesus, having an graven, drawn images are forbidden because of the law of moises until the time of Jesus Christ. so that is definitely not the image of Christ. The images you see today are just Leonardo DA vinci's model for the last supper. According to history Da Vinci live in 16th century so it is imposible to for Leonardo to have the accurate image of Jesus Christ. the catholic church ask Leo to paint the last supper, after finishes the 11 apostle's, Leo look for a model with angelic face to be his Christ in the painting and he found one . He is a church choir and a student with a wealthy family. later on Leo look for a model for his judas. and he found his model is a place where criminals stays. he's model should look demonic. after Leo finish the painting, he learned that his model for Judas was the same model of Christ, "Pietro Bandoneli". PIetro Bandoneli became poor, some thing went wrong in his family. But the bible describes Jesus Christ as a very handsome and eloquent man.

No. Aside from religious writing, there is no written record of a Jesus Christ. None, only what Christian Religioins have written. For all we know if there really was a Jesus Christ he could have been the ugliest man in the world.

I don't think that anyone now alive has any idea what Jesus looked like.
We can look at the artwork of his time in that part of the world to get a general idea of what the average person looked like, but I don't think there are any actual pictures of him still around.

the fabric of Veronica is now housed in Manoppello - that's a province named Abruzzo, Italy. one factor I consistently thought replaced into humorous is Europeans and human beings have grew to become a midsection-eastern Jew right into a white guy with blonde hair and blue eyes. however the substantial factor is they suspect in Jesus. you could study extra on the internet via looking: Relics of Jesus.
