I think I would ask questions of the other person--whose your favorite whatever? Do you like whatever? I really like your whatever, where did you find it, etc? Normally everyone likes to talk about themselves, but many times it is hard to find a good listener. You must be yourself, but you must also be interested in what they have to say or there is no dialogue.

Its really a tough job to do.I think be who you are, be frank and come out with some topic and if that bores ask what do you like and go on keep looking at him or her this actually worked

Improvise...For example
"Are you a student?" ..."Cool, I'm a Criminal Justice Major"
or
"Enjoying the music?"..."Yeah, I love this band. They kinda remind me of the -- insert band name --."
Just talk to a girl as if you were not trying to get laid. Be normal. Forget about the sexual dynamics. Well, not entirely.

well you know just small talk. and talk about her day and hows shes doing you know. like how her lifes been and if anything interesting has happened to her lately talk about her problems you know

ask questions about HER only, never talk about yourself. also try to talk about intellectual things, talk about anything interesting...especially something you two have incommon.
