August can be an unpredictable month for weather, but nowadays ALL our weather is unpredictable. I got married in April this year and we were lucky and the weather was like June.
It is always best, if you can, to choose a venue for the reception that has indoor as well as outdoor facilities and then if it is wet you just have to make the best of it.
Don't get too fixated on the weather. There are other more important things.
But hopefully it will be sunny and you will have a wonderful wedding.

What!!...are you having a laugh?! You'll get married if it's a good day?? I couldn't care less if i got married in the snow...seriously love...pick a date and forget what the weather be like on 8th Aug 2008...you marrying the weather or your future husband???

No idea if it will be hot. You can never predict this crazy weather! I dont like 8 but if you do then go for it.
