Could someone Enlighten me why British & Candadian forces are in Afghanistan ???

one only as to log into Yahoo Chat and go into Politics Lobby, I hear the views of 60% of Americans who believe we are not in on the game ! its a sad day for British & Candadians who are Currently serving in Afghanistan, let alone for the British Troops in the main southern city of Basra Nr Kuwait ! When the Views of the USA are we shouldn'r even be in on the game play as we doing **** all.... Maybe the USA should say that to British & Candadian loved ones who have seen Sons come home in Body Bogs... Americans only think of its self as in the game.... I once told Americans can read.... well Americans read this go into you Politics Lobby one..... and see you own views as seen by 60% of you.... Where you own Americans Transform panic into peace, stress into serenity, and chaos into control even if been to the Bar for few Beers to do so..... A salute to some good friends. It’s a privilege to call my friends. Saves my neck on a daily basis...Americans self righteuousness is making me want to puke

Apologies if someone does not value your countries' contributions in Afganistan. That's an important mission, one much more so than the one in Iraq. It was definitely a terrorist breeding ground and the current govt needs all our help to put keep the terrorists at bay.

The British and the Canadians are there because it's important to the world that we stabalize the mid-East as quickly as we can. Appreciate it if your countries could do more to lobby our President on how to be more effective in the fighting against the insurgents in the region. We're not getting it done because we are not fighting correctly. It's time for new tactics, and I hope your govt's can help.

The war in Afghanistan has UN approval so there is a multi national force. In Iraq it is the US and the coalition of the willing not a UN sanctioned invasion. In Afghanistan Canadians make up the bulk of soldiers in the Khandahar region where volatile fighting still carries on. As much as it saddens me to see a flag draped coffin come home to Canadian soil, I am proud that government allows me to see a ramp or repatriation ceremony live on TV. That's a practice not allowed on US television. Perhaps because that may bring home the fact that the Americans are losing their cause in Iraq, and if the public saw more dead soldiers coming home it would drive that theory home.

US and UK and NATO are in afganistan to take out the talliban from power and to free the country from terrorists like al Quida. They also want to make it democratic. One of the goals is to free the people from sharia laws which is wery disciminating to women i particular.

The reason for the war in Iraq is that the Bush family wanted to finish what they had started with the first gulf war. That is expell Sadam Hussain from power. Johan

I used to think I was the only one who thought I was halucinating when I thought Nato and UK troops were serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and being returned home in body bags... that the only country fighting the war on terror was USA...

I was obviously mistaken. Thanks for putting me right :-)

In answer to your question though, British and Canadian troops are there to get the job done properly and correctly !!.. if given the opportunity !
