I make a left turn when the light was yellow. When I drove in the middle of the intersection, the light turned red. The cops pulled me over and gave me a ticket. Since I am a new driver in LA, I told him I just got my licence for 1 month. And the light was yellow ...but he said" It's too late, Miss. Don't be rush next time" What can I do? Do i need to find a lawyer or just pay for it ?

You could try pleading not guilty and possibly the arresting officer would be willing to reduce the charge. It works here in NYS because the courts don't want to waste time and money having traffic court trials!
However, the flip side of the coin is---- in most states it is illegal to pull into the intersection and wait to turn, you are supposed to stop at the stop line and wait for a clear roadway before turning! So, that generally tosses the "yellow light" therory in the trash pretty quick!
As some have offered in their response, traffic school in CA is an option too. Since I'm not a CA resident I cannot comment on that subject.

Unfortunately, the yellow exists to warn you that the light is turning red, to prevent people from running red lights. It is not there to tell you to speed up, or even keep going because the light is going to go red. It is not a limbo zone. When the light turns yellow, you are supposed to stop IF POSSIBLE, and that is the part where this ticket comes in. Obviously the officer thought it would have been possible for you to stop so he ticketed you.
My advice? Next time leave earlier if you want to get there on time instead of running a light.

If any part of your vehicle is in the intersection when the light turns red you are guilty of running the red light. Period. Next time wait for the light to cycle back to green. Safer for others and you and cheaper.

Neither one....since you are a new driver, you are most likely eligable for traffic school. Many now days, including in LA county Im sure of, are able to give it to you online. So, look up online traffic school, and if you havent done it in the past (2 yrs I think) then you can do it, you wont have to pay the fine, just the traffic school. Good luck

Just pay it, yellow is to allow you to get though the intercestion before it turns red, If you are still in the intercestion when it turns red you are wrong.

dispite what most people think or do, yellow does not mean to speed up and hurry though.

the law is if your 2 front tires are in the intersection when the light is yellow as it is turning red, then you are ok. you have NOT run a red light. but if your 2 front tires have gone into the intersection when the light has ALREADY turned red, then that is running a red light. good luck!

If you have a free lawyer at hand I'd say go with that. Otherwise argue it in court. It can't increase your penalty, but it looks better on a driving record that if you had a ticket that you argued it. Also you're right in that if you were in the intersection at yellow then you did not disobey laws.

tell the cop you have no longer have been given a license, have a gun interior the glove field, and a ineffective physique interior the trunk. while the call interior the reinforcements, then tutor the captain your DL, tutor you have no longer have been given a gun or ineffective physique, and then say the bastard is mendacity approximately why you have been pulled over.

if you go to court and ask for traffic school the ticket will not go on your record and your insurance will not go up... also the judge MIGHT reduce the fine a little. But be prepred to pay
