It's hard because it means an extra commitment and fidelity.
But also it's wonderful because is really hard to grow tired from the other person.
Every time you see each other, it's more special, because it's not meant to last long.
Call him often, be in touch with him, even electronically, by instant messengers or emails. Sent him little details. Don't be perfect when you are able to see him. And hint him to do likewise and to give you something that reminds you of him every time you look at it.
I have a Claddagh ring my boyfriend gave me and every time I miss him, I look at it to comfort me.
Maybe it's corny, but it works for me.

my best friend is now my boyfriend and he left a month after we started going out to his training station in alaska, im from texas. its hard, but we make it work, with about 3 to 4 hour conversations on the phone every night. letters and emails can really spice up a relationship, it adds romance, and it feels nice to have something waiting for you when u get home.

You can have a long distance relationship... if indeed it is a real relationship. Do you know each other? Are you only seperated temporarily? My husband and I have been seperated off and on for ten years now. We are stronger than ever.
