errr people... stop saying 'isn't it obvious??' and everything because it really isn't....
The penis is INSIDE the tomcats body so it could look like a female fairly easily. It's a good question to ask. The testicles aren't easy to see when they are young cats.

All cats should have their shots just like dogs do, ask the Vet! to let you know if you kitty is a boy or a girl. I can always tell by looking but if you want to be sure ask the Vet.Don't forget to have your Kitty Spayed or Neutered! They can be fixed as early as 12 weeks old. Cat's Will spray urine all over the place to mark their territory if they aren't fixed.

boys look like they have a "t" at least thats how i can tell. girls just have an "l". It sounds funny but check it out. Also if it has more then 2 colors its a girl. And not all orange cats are boys.

Check for it's parts. In small kittens it can be hard to tell; with them, one opening is a boy, two is a girl. After that...males have furry testicles..unless they've been removed, in which case they have only the furry scrotum;)

There are many different ways like the male cats have their head bigger than females cats, also you can distinguish by their sexual part, their attitude, and also by their voice like most males' voice are more stronger than females.

When I was a little girl I wanted a little girl kitten I called it princess as our dog at the time was called Prince well took Princess to the vets and he said your princess has a willy opps!!!
Also quite interesting half black and half white!

You dont count its nipples because male and female cats both have them.
You have to look at the cats sex organs. If its anus and its sex organ are close together its a female, if they are further apart then its a male.

this may sound crude, but lift it's tail and check for equipment. If there is a large bulbous thing, it's a male. No bulbous thing, it's a female.

Is it not obvious? I dont know for sure as i've never owned a cat. But surely it has a thing between its legs?
